Hello all! i've searched and searched but cannot find a proper pattern for Captain Hans' Jacket. It is an M42 greatcoat yes, but there are no patterns online? Does anyone have the numbers for the patterns and if so where to find them? many thanks in advance!

Unfortunately patterns for WWII uniforms are very scarce and difficult to get a hold of, most of the companies that sell reproductions of these uniforms either got very lucky and were able to buy original patterns, or made their own patterns using measurements from an original article of clothing. If you want an M42 overcoat, your probably going to have to buy a reproduction (very expensive due to the cost/amount of 100% wool needed), or you could try your best at modifying a pattern that’s similar and accept that there will be some inaccuracies. Another rather cheap method would be buying a surplus overcoat; East German military overcoats are rather close, but seem to be based more on the earlier M36/40's and don’t have the characteristic massive collar and French cuffs.
Remember, if you decide to try to modify a pattern, there’s a good deal of information on the internet in the form of pictures, you can get a good idea of how some of these uniforms were constructed just by looking a them. Best of luck.
