Hi there,

I'd like some feedback on these shots. All were taken at the last con I attended.

Overall, the exposures seem a bit too bright.

The 1st image has a good action pose, but it has a strange angle that makes the body look very distortedly short. A side angle would have worked better. The shadow on the one shown eye hinders how well I can see contact lens effect. The sleeve going out of frame seems like a chopped-off hand. It would be nice to see the right arm.

The 2nd image has a cute pose, with the bird well placed against her skin, rather than blending in with the dress. I don't know the character, but a smile would look good with the bird. If you are going for a symmetrical composition, it would be stronger if her nose was pointing at the lens. It looks like you tried to correct the bright highlights and bring in some detail, but the skin looks unnatural.

The 3rd image has some interesting highlights and shadows on the wall, giving it a Yin and Yang quality. Still, there is too much head-room. Her shoulders look very wide from this angle. Favoring one of her shouders toward the camera would have a more flattering effect, and lead the eyes more into the scene. The low, 3/4 angle on her face made it look very wide too. More shadows on her right cheek would sculpt it to look more proportional to reality. Her facial expression is quite good to convey some drama.

The 4th image has a good reaction with his eyes watching out for danger. I would like to see more of the gun, her face, and the long grey hair. The high contrast conceals many of the details of the costumes.
