I know questions have been posted here before asking what fabric is best to use for either Miku, Rin or Len's sleeves.
My question is similar.

Is it better to use thicker fabric or thinner fabric, or is it open to preference?

It's your taste, you decide. There's really no "best" material. It's what you think looks the best

I prefer tough light fabric for arm warmers.

Actually, I'm working on a Haku cosplay ( http://www.freewebs.com/vocaloids/Yowane.jpg ) and I had a problem with the designs on the sleeves. I have them made, but I was wondering if anyone had any close-ups of the little rectangles, and maybe suggestions of what to make them with?

I myself am thinking of using iron-on transfer paper for Kagamine-styled arm warmers, you know, the stuff you can print pictures onto. I'm not sure how well that will turn out, but I saw it on a tutorial somewhere.
