I'll be attending Anime Mid-Atlantic11 next year from June 17-19, 2011 and I am in current need of a clean, inexpensive, realistic way of creating her armor.

Originally, I was going to use Volpin Props N7 armor tutorial [http://volpinprops.blogspot.com/2010/09/n7-armor-dragoncon-2010-recap.html]--until I found out how tedious it was, and how expensive the EVA foam is. If anyone has any tutorials on how to make realistic armor for her I'm up for it.
Secondly, her sword/dagger I want to create as well. Just a realistic and simple tutorial will do. Thank you.

Hmmm have you checked out the tutorial section of this site? If not here's (http://amethyst-angel.com/armormaking.html) a link to Amethyst-Angel's site for the fiberglass phobic. I'm assuming since you said 'clean' fiberglass isn't an option. She has a collection of tutorials on how to make armor out of the kind of craft foam you can get at any craft store (Micheals, A.C. Moore, Hobby Lobby.) It's a pretty cheap material too. There's also a section on there about how to pattern out the shapes of your armor. Any method you find is probably going to be a little tedious though, unless you just want to wrap yourself in green duct tape :D

EDIT: She also uses styrene in her tutorial, but you may be able to get away without it. It's also a pretty cheap material, but you may have to order online.

As for the dagger, I would again recommend checking out the Weapon Tutorial (http://www.cosplay.com/forumdisplay.php?f=178) thread. There's plenty of tutorials using all different kinds of materials, from cardboard to pink insulation foam. I suggest using a straightedge and ruler and drawing out a life sized pattern you can use to start out with. Your prop will look all the better for it.

What about Wonderflex? It seems to be about the same price (if not more) as the EVA foam though (just based on a quick google search). I think for the N7 armor he picked EVA foam mainly because of its texture, if your armor isn't textured like that then there doesn't seem to be a big advantage to using it over other materials.

Like Zil, I would also suggest craft foam, it's pretty cheap and can be made to look realistic. It could easily be used to make the leg and arm pieces.
You probably want to do the chest and torso armor out of some sort of cloth to make it a lot more fitted and stretchy though. Craft foam would be good to make the tan colored part of the chest armor out of, but I'm not sure how to do the actual boob piece using craft foam.

Very true, catfetus. Curves are really a problem with craft foam. Stupid boobs. It's possible though. You can take a dart out of the foam piece and then glue the edges together, and you'll get a rounded shape, like a cone. You may have to play around with it before you get something nice but I think it would work. Also, you can heat craft foam up a little bit and form it over an object to get a more rounded shape. Here's (http://www.entropyhouse.com/penwiper/costumes/helmsdeep.html) another craft foam tutorial that mentions that option.
