View Full Version : Okinawan Conventions?

Hi, I just moved to Japan (and have to stay until I graduate from High School) and I currently live on Okinawa. Does anyone know of any conventions that go to Okinawa, or are they all Tokyo based? Thanks in advance!

There isn't much going on in Okinawa given its geographical isolation.

Looks like there are small-scale Odekake Lives events every two months and a few Cos Day events throughout the year. You'll need to look them up every so often and see what's available in advance yourself since there aren't any Okinawan event only sites or listings.

archive lists Okinawa along with Kyuushu (http://www.cosp.jp/event_list.aspx?y=201012&d=&m=0&e=10&t=0&qd=1&qy=2010&rt=&rd=).

There are cosplay events in Okinawa too.

As far as I know, for example, the next one will be "Odekake Laibu in Okinawa". in Jan, 10
It is a Dojinshi market, and it will look more like "convention" than other Japanese cosplay events.

There are more events, and good number of cosplayers there. Good luck !
