Ok, saw Kill Bill yesterday and thought Go Go Yubari kicked ass. Just wanted to get some feedback and see what people think about cosplaying Kill Bill characters...good, bad, goofy idea?

I think it would be awesome to get a Kill Bill group together! I'd love to be one of the Crazy 88. I definately see nothing wrong with the idea.

I wanna be Elle. I love her white jacket, and I love her nurse getup... can't wait for the second movie so I can see what else she'll have. (eyepatches kick.)

I'm glad I wasn't the only one thinking this. ^^ You'd probably have to get a group together to be really recognizable outside of a few keey costumes.

Kill Bill the newest film to hit theaters, it had sum really awesome characters and really awesome costumes! XD So now my question to all u cosplay fanatics is.... Who is gonna do a Kill Bill Cosplay? As fer meh i would totally luv to cosplay as Go-Go, i luuuv her outfit and her weapon! XD Or if not Go-Go, I'm seriously thinkin bout cosplayin as Elle Driver, i fell in luv with her chara when she came on the screen she wuz soo bad-ass!! even tho she may seem sum wha of a biotch at first but... I juz luuuv her chara design, shez sooo purrdy! *___* I might possibly do a dark version of Elle, cuz I dun have blonde hair.. unlezz I get a wig? Which i MAY do.... But i highly doubt i'd look good with blonde hair! X__o I guezz itz juz still ponderin thoughtz fer meh! ^o^

Now I may sound like a hypocrit considering I am writing my guide to self defence on Fangirls/Fanboys, but if I ever saw a female cosplay as The Bride and her yellow tracksuit. God have mercy on them...

Hey Ali ^_^ Oooo, definitely thinking of going as Go Go to AB '04. Not sure if they'd let me in with the chain though O_o The end would prob be made out of foam, so it's not like I'm planning on taking any people out with it, unless they're wicked annoying. I'll think about doing Hattori because I like swords.
Already have a Crazy 88 finished.

Wonders about having a Crazy 88 vs Black Mamba to rival the Agent Smith gethering @ AX04.

Or maybe Crazy 88's versus Agent Smiths. My $ on the 88's because I like swords.

And one more thing I think I might have mentioned already: I like swords (drool).

Ok, in case no body notices, I do quite a bit of Photo shoots. Last night was Naruto shoot...... and I ended up with some pretty fun pics.

Tonight........ I am doing a Kill Bill........ COSBY photo shoot. I am going to be Uma Thurman and my friend will be Bill Cosby. The costumes aren't that decent....... esp since I have like 1 long wig and it's Pink and his costume is an afro, a pimp hat, and a paper plate with a picture of Bill Cosby glued on it. OH it will be funny; but, the real question is should i bother to do this, or just relax and wait til a con where I can actually dress up as Bill Cosby and have people Kill me? What do you think............ I am all about making you guys laugh........

I've got a friend up in Canada doing The Bride's yellow tracksuit, and I've been working on getting a group of Crazy 88s together. I was considering a Sofie Fatale outfit, but will probably just fall back to a crazy 88 member. All I need to do is get a tie, make the mask, and find some kinda weapon to use.

Does anyone happen to have a pic of the back of Uma's yellow track suit? I have one pic of it, but it is really blurry. It looks to have some blue and white lettering, but I'm not sure. Maybe I'm mistaken. If anyone could help me out I would really appreciate it!

Oh yeah....and does anyone know what material it is made out of? I'm thinking it is some sort of nylon, but I'm not sure.

Sorry about the dumb questions, but I am very new at this and want to do a good job. At least I already have the yellow Asics! Plus I look a little bit like Uma...same skintone and same hair...so now all I need to figure out is the costume and I'll be good to go. I might wear it to Animazement or A-Kon. I've attended these in the past, but never in costume. I finally found a character I really like so I'm excited.

Thanks for any help!

Thanks! I actually figured out the back of her costume, I think. She is actually wearing 2 different track suits....one while she is on the motorcycle (made out of leather...this one seems to have some writing on the back but i can't make out what it says), and the other is what she wears most of the time during the epic fight scene. This one seems to be made out of a nylon or polyester of some sort....but I reallly can't tell. Any help?

As I said, I am new at this so you guys are the pros here. But if anyone can help me out I'd appreciate it!

I really love her costume and would like to make a good quality replica for myself.

Thanks!!!

*grin*

I made a The Cheat (a la Homestarrunner.com) costume for halloween, consisting of bright yellow drawstring paints/hoodie with the spots painted on and spikes on the hood. Several of the less-informed attendies at the event thought I was dressed as the bride. Spots, people! SPOTS! Still, I was pleased, and took it as a compliment. Especially considering I have short black hair and am built Nothing Like Uma Thurman. o_0

I too am planning on cosplaying Go-Go at some point in the future, no idea when. I also had a delusion of grandeur for a 2004 con of actually assembling 88 people in black suits and masks. I doubt I'll organize such a thing, too much else on the go...but how much fun would that be?!

I'm planning on dressing as one of the Crazy 88. Also, there's a thread for an Agent Smith vs Crazy 88's gathering for AX. ;)

*spasm*

Oh, woe is me that AX is not an option!! Ppoooooh. Ah well, I'm suitably inspired to attempt something like this at a Toronto Con. Thanks for the intel, Ghetto Robot!

Other than The Bride (pka Beatrix), the only other I'd care to cosplay from that movie is the awesome O-Ren, but I don't think I'd be so good at looking Chinese :p

But-but-but! Doesn't the Matrix group at AX still need Trinity?? Oh my, what to do, what to do..... :p

*Pulls Thread out of no where*

Anyone out there has a really good shot of the Patch on Go Go? The ones linked in this thread are gone and I can't find any large good ones.

I was thinking of printing it out and just ironing it onto the jacket or maybe paint it on something using like puffy paint.

I would do a screen shot from my DVD but the player lately has been crashing when I do screen shots.

Thanks!!

Well...I've made my katana Bill-ish (check my gallery) with an Oni-mask graphic...
doubt I'll do a full cosplay though...

One thing for you Go-Go'ers:
make sure you get that fringe perfect! Totally horizontal! Use a spirit level!
I kinda think the weapon and school-girl outfit is good, but if you get the hair right...it's perfect!

Plus if you could get a tanto (knife) like hers, and all all the beady-crap.
BTW; for Gaijin in Jpn, her knife is EXTREMELY funny.
Jpnz school girls cover their mobile phones in stickers, and have vast amounts of beads, soft toys and general junk hanging off their phones...
QT seems to have noticed that and transfered it to Go-Go's knife.
V funny! :)

To all of you Go-Go (go-ers)... (Yeah, I tried. :crylaugh: ) What did you use for her weapon? I saw one gallery where a girl had just used a ball-and-chain. Are any of you going to try and add the extra stuff on it for detail, or what are your methods around her weapon? And, is anyone going to try to do something for her short sword?

Where did you guys go to find a navy blue blazer? I have a skirt I'm thinking about using, I've just got to find the blazer. And, did anyone find a close-up of her crest? (I skimmed through the other pages, I didn't seem to catch a link)...

Sorry for all the questions. Thanks so much in advance, guys.

I've got DiVAS Elle Driver ready for AX and a Pretty Riki costume I did for Halloween last year. I was going to wear Riki to AX but after seeing Vol. 2 I think Elle Driver really is my favorite character XD I was thinking of doing her "Budd's Trailer" suit as well but having a DiVAS group is so much cooler, so far we have a Budd and O-Ren, just need a Vernita!

I also noticed how Tarantino put charms and things on GoGo's tanto. It made me laugh in the theater, seeing those pink flower star bead things hanging from the knife @D@

I was thinking of just using plastic chains and spray painting it. Not sure on the actual ball. I would use metal chains but I don't think they would allow it into the con ground. For the sword, I found a small on on ebay in a really light red with some metal work around it. I'm going to paint it a little darker and try to pop of the metal. I need to find some flower beading to add onto a string and then tie it around the sword.

That I'm still looking for. I've been hitting thirft stores and searching on ebay.

hmmm i would do kill bill cosplay in a heart beat! if only i had time and money, which have very quickly slipped away from me. I had really wanted to do the Yellow motorcylcle suit from the first movie, or Elle's cream suit with the drawn on pockets and stuff. and i would now, after seeing the second one do Elle's suit from the scene in the trailer, just cuz it looks great, and a shiny eyepatch....oooohhh sexy! Something that would just be totaly awesome, but i doubt i would try would be O-ren's white Kimono, it was just so amazing, but that is not a kimono i could pull off i dont think, simply because of the complexity of the style and the design and pattern of the fabric.
i really would have liked to cosplay to the opening of the second movie, but just didnt have the time to make another costume (since it was right after AB week)
some day......

Kairi, you noticed the shiny eyepatch too! I've been trying to figure out what to make one out of, not sure if I should try shiny black plastic or something like black lacquered wood. Soft patches are always easier to wear but that shiny number Elle Driver has is too swanky to pass up XD

that shiney eye patch looked to me like the lens from a pair of very dark sunglasses.

you could just pop one out and find a way to either cut the two small holes to pass the strap through.

plus if it was a lens you could still see...

LOL that's a very easy and practical suggestion... thank you! I've done the lens popping before for a Kuroki Kaze costume but I gotta say that the variation between light and dark for your vision can give you a headache. The headache isn't as bad as wearing a real eyepatch though if I remember correctly. My depth perspective became completely skewed the second I took my eyepatch off to attend AX03's masquerade n.n;;;

My daughter is doing Go-Go for Anime Central next week & we've gotten everything down packed!! Even the canvas Nikes she wears!! Check the pic attached!

As for the ball, I took a foam ball, sprayed it the used some craft foam & some spikes from a collar I got at Spencers for the ball. I wouldn't try to spray a plastic chain since they don't hold very well. I went with real metal on the chain & the things on the sides.

Enjoy!

Interesting... I'm cosplaying Beatrix to go with a friend who cosplays O-ren.... we could use a Go-Go, but I won't have either of my kids cosplay her since I won't have them cosplaying from any movie I consider WAAAAAAAY inappropriate for them to view at ages 9 and 13 years old.

(I still can't BELIEVE they only gave it an "R" - and I want to slap those people upside the head who I saw brought a toddler in when they went to see it. They left early, though.)

I bet we'll find someone to be Go-Go at Ani-Magic.

Haha, yeah, I know I probably *could* sew if it came down to it...but seeing as I have no sewing machine to speak of that could be a little hard...
I was wondering too, since you brought it up, would it be considered improper to wear a bloody version to Anime Expo? I remember seeing Battle Royale cosplayers w/ blood on them, so I'd think it'd be okay...

ok, I've recently bought the Bride's shoes (the yellow Onitsuka Tigers) and I'm inspired to do the full track suit costume. But, here's my dilemma: to crossplay or to make a "male version" of the bride. But the whole theme of "the bride" is contradictory to that. So do I call myself the groom? But, technically, that texan who owns the record store is the groom.

I finally got my kato mask in. It is almost the same as the crazy 88 with some noticable differences in it. The top of the mast is flat and level for the crazy 88 where the kato mask is rounded. Still looks nice in my opinion. I got my mask from c.y. productions (http://www.cyproductions.com/). Great guy and really good services for what I asked for.

I have to attatch some snaps to the back with an elastic line to keep it on and close to my face. Other than that it is so cool. Check it out here (http://home.comcast.net/~danielpoole/mtimg/mfc.htm) .Sorry about the lack of impactful web design I'll improve it later when I get more time.

I plan...and play is the keyword here...to cosplay Gogo at AWA. It seems pretty ambitious for me since it would be my first costume, but it's not my first time sewing clothing, and I've done a skirt before...so does anyone else have any plans for the Kill Bill cosplay at AWA?

I too plan to attend AWA, and I will have both of Elle's outfits done. The suit is completely done, and the nurse uniform should be done next weekend...any other Kill Bill folks planning to attend?

The onitsukas that she has are called "Tai Chi" shoes. There are quite a few still on ebay, but they're gonna be about $150-300. These were limited edition shoes that sold VERY fast.

If you don't wanna spend that much cash, you can go an alternate route and buy the Onitsuka "Hyper Paw" shoes. These are IDENTICAL to the Tai Chi shoes, but they're more suited for running, and they only cost $60 retail.

To find a store, go to http://www.asicsamerica.com/onitsukatiger/ and search for a store near you. I'd recommend calling them before you go there to see if they have any.

I got this idea at dragoncon this past weekend, watching all the Brides and from time to time the wheel chair bound con attendees. Let me know if it's too offencive or wierd, but I really really want to do it now. I want to be the bride from the begining of vol. 1, in scrubs and the gold sun glasses, in a wheel chair, and attach my Pussy Wagon logo circle (was a excel saga: macrocosm/pussy wagon mix at otakon this year) to the back. As soon as I got the idea, I started doing the wobbly head movement she does to look around. And it's a really simple costume (grandma is an er nurse so i could get a chair). Thoughts anyone? Too offencive to go around a con in a wheel chair when my legs arn't really atrophy?

Well,I think it'll be a certainly interesting cosplay(cause no one's done it before)But...If you still think it's gonna offend someone don't do it,okee dokee cause you don't wanna do that.

Oh, they exist. *pats the box with her pair* But you won't find them unless you're willing to shell out a rather hefty sum of money, at least not at this point. I won't go into how much I paid. x.x We don't discuss that.

I know they exist.I went to a shoe store the other day and I asked if they carried anything like em and the clerk said that they used to,but they were limited edition and I was looking at ebay...and they're quite expensive on there(for a pair of shoes)

LOL, at ACen this year, my friends Beth and Jason were dressed as Elle and Bud, and some (clueless) promoter actually came up to them and said "Hi there. Are you two familiar with the movie "Kill Bill?" Yikes. ^_^;;;

Woot! Next year I'll be going to AX05 in a GoGo oufit, she sooo rules!!! Wonder if they'll still have a gathering. Anyways, I will have a group of Crazy88s and O-rens also, if anyone would like to join us, PM/IM me!

A crazy idea, we're thinking about going into the registration hall and having one of our Crazy88s carry a bom-box playing Tomoyasu Hotei's - Battle Without Honor or Humanity like in the movie, lol and we will have random outbursts of lines from the movie, "You remind me of someone...aah! Charlie Brown!" or "Silly rabbit, tricks are for kids..." etc... :crylaugh:

Btw, can anyone give me tips on how to make Gogo's mace and sword? I would like to carry those around for fun. Um...maybe beat up a few Black Mambas or so...? :untrust:

I just recently saw Kill Bill (volume 1 last weekend and volume 2 two days ago). Yes, I know I'm late >_>; But it's totally made me want to cosplay from it ^^

Sooo....for Ohayocon 2006 (not the one coming up, it's too late of a notice for our group members), we're doing a Kill Bill group, with me as GoGo <3 We might make it for an earlier con if we can all managa to go, but if you're in the Ohio area and are interested in doing a Kill Bill costume for a convention next year, give me a PM or something ^_~

We also have this crazy idea for doing a group of nothing but Elles....since we all ,3 her so much ^_^! Like, sharpie-coat Elle, massacre flashback Elle, nurse Elle, business-suit eyeless Elle, and so on ^^; And there's also a place nearby called Bento GoGo (Japanese Bento restaurant <3) which we're planning on crashing sometime in the near future in a whole bunch of GoGo costumes >XDDDD Just to be obnoxious >_>;

Oh, and somebody's selling The Bride yellow jumpsuits on the Livejournal Kill_Bill community, so check it out

http://www.livejournal.com/users/kill_bill

That should be it ^^

I want to make a Go-Go first. You could double up the bride's tracksuit and wear is as Chigusa's tracksuit (BR). They are pretty similar.

Leather would be cool if you were trying to imitate the cover, but isn't the tracksuit she wears in the bulk of the movie different? I was looking at some pics of her in the big fight scene and leather doesn't stain quite like that. The cover pictures her in more of a motorcyle riding tracksuit (didn't know what else to call it :p ).

I wonder. I 2k5 will it be out of style to dress in "Kill Bill" style cosplay? How long should something like this continue. Personally I have a 'Kato' mask of my own and I am one black suit and tie short of completion. What do you all think? "Kill Bill" cosplay in style or miss by a mile?

Hello "bonepile",

In response to your post, I would be very interested in purchasing one of your handmade Gogo "TBC Tokyo International" patches.

Just a few questions:

1. Do you even have any extra patches?
2. Can you e-mail/post pictures of the patch?
3. How much are you charging?
4. Can you send it to me before this October 29, 2005? (I will pay for any expedited shipping costs.)

I realize your post was dated Jan 10, 2005, but I plan to dress up as Gogo for this Halloween and figured I might as well ask you.

Hope to hear from you!
