I am currently working on my Link ocarina of time cosplay, and i soon plan on buying a sword and shield for my cosplay. the problem is, i cant find and ocarina of time link shields anywhere online. i did see one seller, but it was WAY out of my price limit. but i did see quite a few ZTP Shields that i could definitely afford, and i might do a ZTP Link cosplay in the future.

my question is, would a ocarina of time link look odd with a twilight princess shield?
i mean there are not too many differences between shields, and im not planning it too look 100% accurate, but would it look okay?

a good Hylian shield for a Link costume would be great, the TP shield only differs from the Oot shield a bit, it's not as drastically different as the A Link the Past Hylian shield is, in my opinion there's not much wrong with using that shield, it would in the long run be compatible with a TP cosplay, so why not?:)

i hope this helps a bit

I don't think it matters. I haven't really studied them, but I can't see any differences! I have bought that shield too, it's very heavy and the handle broke after 10 minutes of use... but it does the job. You have found a really cheap store though, those shields are usually sold for about $60!

if i recall correctly i've heard people say to reinforce the handle somehow, so liquid nails or even welding would hold it i think
and if you're walking around you would have to make sure you can carry it on your back when your arm gets tired.

That is the shield I use for my TP inspired Link. I reinforced the handle with new, better screws and some CA glue and gorilla glue thrown in for good measure. I also added better straps to the interior. I carried it around, on my arm only, for like 4 or 5 hours at Dragon*Con and I was fine. Everyone says it's very heavy, but I did not have a problem with the weight at all. I also completely repainted it and weathered the exterior for good measure. It's served me well for about 2 years now.

well that sucks. the store just up'ed the price to $55 which is kind of out of my range a bit considering the bad-ish reviews and the fact that my "handy-skills" suck DX

thanks for the comments though, ill keep them in mind if i do decide to get one
right now, i think ill go with making a cardboard one and hope it doesn't rain when i go to the con with it XD
