View Full Version : Noel Vermillion:Weapon Help

This year for an upcoming convention, I plan on cosplaying the character Noel Vermillion from Blazblue. It took me just now to realize that the cosplay probably won't look right without her weapons. xD Now, I've never made weapon props before, and I haven't got the slightest clue as to how I'd go about making them or what to even make them out of. Here's what her weapons look like, just for reference (http://media.teamxbox.com/games/ss/2268/1246065866.jpg).

Anyone have any (good/easy) tutorials that I could follow, possibly some tips, or even where I might be able to find whatever material I need?

Thanks in advance. :D

MM im not very good at explaing on how to do it but someone can do compositions for ya i think. I can but try not to advertise myself. But the best would be foam or wood. I prefer foam cause its light and really easy to sand down

For those I'd definitely use insulation foam. Not the pink/ blue stuff but actual styrofoam. You can find it in any home improvement store. Lemme try and find a tutorial...

You could get a commision, but if you want to make them yourself I'd go with the foam. Using wood requires power tools... and that can be pretty tough.

Okay, so this is actually for making a scythe but she does an excellent job of going through the steps. From the example picture you have I think you'd be able to adapt this info to make the guns. http://www.cosplay.com/showthread.php?t=113812

noot really sure about a tutorial but your best bet is to make a foam body and work from there. You can probablly work between mache plaster wonderflex or fiberglass from here . Hope it helps :3!

what i did for my noel (http://www.cosplay.com/photo/2777151/) guns was get 2 boards of foam board, lots of hot glue, red fun foam sheet, spray paint, spray lacquer, and 6 buttons.
forst figure out the dimensions of your gun. you then want to zoom in on this image so your screen displays the right size *even if it doesnt fit on the screen* then hold a piece of paper up to your screen and trace out the shapes and countours of the gun onto it. then cut those out of the foam board with an exacto knife. first just cut out the outside that doesnt have the slide in the back. this includes the handles too. cut out four so you have 2 per gun. then fill it int so you make a box between them. then you put a rectangle of foamboard in the bottom part where it cuts out and hot glue it in place. next build another rectangle to place in the slide area on top. after gluing that all on, its just a matter of putting strategic fillers to get the right fullness for certian places. then paint it and it should be good
these are my Noel references (http://www.mediafire.com/?9odasagaa12coqd) if they help you with anything
Im sure that wasnt very clear but I can try to make a video tutorial if I have time.
