I'm fairly new to the cosplaying world.. and as for costume making, I'm starting on one of my absolute favorite FF characters; Vincent Valentine. I've got pretty much everything I need, but what I need help on; the patterns.

What I mean is that I've got a nice 3 yard red cloth.. I know I can cut it, but I've been writing down plans on just how to cut the cloth. I mean, after trying some examples from getting the collar (which I believe should stand up) to the end of the cape, I don't know how to cut it, and sew together, etc.. I'm probably making this too hard than it needs to be.. but since I'm pretty sure that most people here have already made a vincent valentine costume, I would appreciate if anyone could possibly give an example, or drawing of how they cut out, or sewed the cape together... I just don't feel like messing up and having to go alll the way back to the store to get more fabric.

(btw, if I do mess it up, mom won't let me go back to the store :x )

thanks; Aikou. ^^;;

...Go talk to Elysion Gear... I did Vincent but I just bought a cape & matching scarf... *Sweatdrop* I lost the scarf though... I'm gonna remake mine...

Thanks for the suggestion.. though I don't think that member is online? well here's something; in collaboration with mom, we found two different ways to sew it together, if this helps at all.. I dunno how anyone else did it, they might have done it one of these two ways, to cut out and sew:

well, honnestly i think neither one of these really is it.
(i'm about to make a vincent cosplay too)
i have a pivture for you; http://media.giantbomb.com/uploads/0/9132/1119978-vincentredcapeback.jpg
look at the back. his cape is made of two pieces. one upper, coming untill halfway his arm, and unterneath it there is a cape from witch the ends are badly damaged. also do not forget about his neck. there is something there too.
(english is, as you might have noticed, not really my language)

it is quite the challenge, but... i'm looking n how to make it too. if i find how, i'll let you know.
