View Full Version : How Hetalia 'should' be! (In my opinion.) ^.^

So, I came across this compilation of comic strips on Terminal Lance and they're quite hilarious. Then, it got me thinking... It's "similar" to Hetalia... But, they aren't making fun of a specific period in history and the characters don't seem to be trying to fight each other for spotlight.
Hope ya'll enjoy them. ^.^

I like Hetalia as it is, but I'm chuckling at some of these strips. <3
I found myself reading stuff on other threads oddly.
I can't stop reading...

XD Yeah, those comics were great. America's reactions to things are so true. XD

That's Scandinavia and the World. Humon (http://humon.deviantart.com/) draws them, and they're just Danish stereotypes, instead of Japanese~

Aah. I didn't know who drew them. Sure, they're still stereotypes of all the various countries... In my opinion, it's so much better than Hetalia in the way they portray the various countries/characters.

THANK you, I was just about to say that.

It's the same as Hetalia, just with different characters as the main characters and different stereotypes (though the stereotypes for some characters, like America and England, are nearly the same as Hetalia's.)

Humon is amazing. I prefer these to Hetalia, but that's from a European point of view. I find the characterisations to be slightly more true-to-life (although obviously completely OTT) and like the fact that the artist keeps up with current events as well as doing the historical stuff.

Love Scandaniavia and the World. And so do all of my Hetalia friends.

I make references to it by having a bald eagle plushie with my America cosplay. Love their characters, ahaha.

Though the writer has explicitly said her characters aren't the countries themselves. They're just really stereotypical citizens.

(Hey all, lets not turn this into a Hetalia bashing thread? Kthnx )

>_> no one here has said anything bad about hetalia at all...we just like this comic. From a non-american's point of view, this is HILARIOUS.

O.oa You'd think France would be the hairy one... Or at least, their women. *Shudders.* I kid, I kid, btw!
Also, yeah... I've been browsing more of those strips that weren't posted over on TL. Good stuff.
I think it'd be HILARIOUS to see a woman cosplay as the "Fem-America" from "Scandinavia and the World". Huge fake breasts, American flag top, large sunglasses, and a chihuahua plush on their head. XD

I know none of you have, but people take any bait to bash hetalia. Is just my warning out there c:

(Not to mention how this thread was even started. Look at how the first post is baiting people to bash)

That was the first time I've read these, they're surprisingly good... also, I think it's interesting seeing how some things are the same or different to Hetalia.
