I plan on being Columbia for AnimeNext 2011 in June if I can get it done in time, and if not, then for Halloween in the fall.
If any of you have any tips on patterns, fabric, or anything, let me know!

I saw this outfit on ebay. I'd say probably just get clothes similar and sew on sequins, or get patterns of similar clothes. there are so farics made to look like sequins found at hobby lobby I think. As for that hat. sequins + Glue

Speaking as someone that's had to do all of Columbia's costumes before I highly recommend the Anal Retentive Rocky Horror Costume list! They'll give you every single detail about every one of her outfits, like the order of the stripes on her shorts.

I've done several RHPS costumes and I highly recommend checking out some Rocky-specific sites like the one Devi linked to.
Also, be aware that Columbia's costume - depending on what you want to do, can be really expensive (gold tailcoat = $200+).
RHPS fans can be really crazy about "screen accuracy". So it really depends on your goals here. Do you want a costume on par with the best re-creations ? Or do you just want to have fun ? Either is okay - and while Cosplay.com can help you with the latter, the former needs a community with more experience with RHPS costumes. :) Some Rocky people are on here, but you're better served looking at the resources that are already there - because there are plenty of great ones.
