I'm going to make a completely realistic (if possible) watch.
and i was wondering if anybody would have any advice on how to make it. Is there somewhere I could buy a cheap silver watch to fix up?
If not, just ideas about what to make it out of- besides metal, that's my last resort (i'm happy that it's possible :toothy:)
As well as his automail-
which im considering some sort of molding material for like model magic

As far as the watch goes, eBay has a TON of options for blank / slightly designed stainless steel and silver pocket watches starting around $10 or so for Buy it Now options.
But, I'd recommend getting one 'from' FMA. It's cheaper and ya don't have to modify it. >.>

I'd say wonderflex or a papier-mâché / wonderflex combo for the auto-mail. I believe there are a few tutorials / guides floating around the forums for them. Try searching for it.

Buying prefab FMA watch is probably gonna be the prettiest, easiest and often cheapest ways to go. It may help you to see some of the previous threads on this topic, e.g. http://www.cosplay.com/showthread.php?t=27877 even though most are a bit old,

AH! I really don't want to do automail out of cardboard! I can't afford anything like metal. is there anything i could sculpt it out of?

You probably wanna search the board a bit more on this, as it's a common question.
off the top of my head: wonderflex, foam-core, craft foam, fiberglass, reinforced paper mache, vacuformed thermoplastic, polyurethane resin. All have different positives and negatives.
