I will be using that picture for my reference. I have a pattern for the coat but what I don't have is a pattern for the shorts.

Does anyone have a (preferably Simplicity) pattern recommendation? It would be much appreciated.

I love McCall's 4839 for the shorts. I used them for my friend's Ciel shorts and have used the pattern for a million other things. It's super easy, fits really nicely, and has various lengths.

Not a problem! Hope that you can get you hands on the pattern and have good luck with it too.

Check Ebay. A lot of times, you can find discontinued patterns there. ^^

Check ebay for sure. But a lot of times you can just google the pattern and it comes up for sale all over. That's how I got it. I actually have it in two size sets, and for a while I only had the smaller one and needed the bigger, so I just searched and got it really cheap.

Out of curiosity, what pattern are you using for the jacket? I'm currently considering doing Ciel but haven't decided on an outfit because I don't know what kind of patterns are available.

Well that one could be used for a couple of his outfits. I used it for a Servant of Evil coat, just didn't add the collar.

I'm thinking of using THAT one for the coat though. It's a similar style, I just need to make minor alterations in length and fitting.

But as I searched this one caught my eye.

Thanks I would have never though the Mad Hatter pattern would work but now it could if it's shortened. Now to just wait for a Joann pattern sale.

The only problem I see is the slit down the front in the middle.. But I think if you email the company or go to a seamstress/tailor they could help you alter it.

. Now to just wait for a Joann pattern sale.

I get my patterns at walmart. They're usually $8.

The Wal-Marts here don't have sewing sections.

I have never seen a walmart that doesn't have a fabric/craft section. D: That's just horrible.

Well good luck finding them.

Most Wal-marts took out their fabric departments. Only a select few still have them at all.
