Hello all,

I was wondering what kind of fabric one should typically use for a face scarf. The last time I made a face scarf/mask was for the Merchant from RE4: http://honestcake.files.wordpress.com/2010/03/merchant1.jpg

I don't remember what fabric I used, but all I remember is that I could barely breathe while I wore it at the con.

I'm thinking of doing a similar thing with another costume, but I was just wondering if you guys had any suggestions for what type of fabric I could use for a scarf that I can wear all day without gasping for air. Preferably, the fabric should be relatively opaque as well. Thanks!

most natural fibers breath better? Maybe get something with a looser weave?

Generally cottons and silks breath well and comes in wide varieties of weight available in most fabric stores. Maybe start looking at light cottons like voile and shirtings. They are light, breathes easy and some are more opaque than others.

Thanks! I'll take a look at some cottons.
