View Full Version : Wig Brand/Site Reviews: Arda Wigs / Kingdom Arts

Yesterday I bought some wigs from Kingdom Arts' Arda Wigs (http://kingdom-arts.org/arda-wigs.html) booth at Anime Expo, so I thought that even though it wasn't an online purchase, I'd post a review since it was purchased from a company that sells online.

Since they were running an at-con discount, I bought two wigs: a Jaguar in Black, and a Magnum in what I want to say is Platinum Blonde. There was no shipping involved, so I'll move on straight to the wigs themselves.

Comfort: The first thing I noticed about the wigs upon putting them on was how spacious they were. I had just been working with a wig so tight it gave me headaches, putting on each of the Arda wigs and finding my head feeling comfortable and not at all confined was indescribably wonderful and amazing.

Fiber: It's not exactly soft, but it is tough, and in a good way. I was a little concerned about the softness when I first pulled one of the wigs out of the bag, and it felt a little rough in comparison to some of the Cosworx wigs I've purchased, but in those, their silkiness can translate to slipperiness and sheer frustration, meaning that softer isn't always better. The lack of shine is actually a nice thing, meaning if someone takes a picture of it with flash it won't be a shiny monster.

Anyway, by tough, I mean resilient: the wigs looked much better after a gentle combing, and were still in mostly good shape after a not so gentle combing (I'll get back to that mostly later). The wigs are supposed to be heat resistant, so I found an inconspicuous portion of hair that could use some straightening, but would be fine if I messed up.

The Before (http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m279/lycoris128/wigs/wigreviews011.jpg); note that little bend at the top of the middle section of hair. I pulled out my cheap straightener and put it on its lowest setting, then pulled it over the segment of hair. The After (http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m279/lycoris128/wigs/wigreviews012.jpg); stick straight, and still in perfect condition! Out of curiosity I ran it through the straightener a few more times and was pleased to find no damage done to the wig. Mission accomplished!

Magnum in Platinum Blonde (081)
1 (http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m279/lycoris128/wigs/wigreviews015.jpg) 2 (http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m279/lycoris128/wigs/wigreviews016.jpg) 3 (http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m279/lycoris128/wigs/wigreviews019.jpg)
From afar, the color of the wig appears to be a soft, creamy, almost pastel yellow that reminds me vaguely of cosworx's color 25. If you examine the wig closely (REALLY closely), you'll see that it's a blend of what seems to be a true platinum blonde and a bright golden yellow. It's not exactly soft straight out of the bag, but after some combing I was happy with it (see shots 1 and 2). The ends seem to love naturally flipping and curling, but you can easily fix this with a straightner (I left mine unmodified). The bangs end just below my nose and the first layer of hair hits at around midway down my cheeks. Layers near the nape are plenty long enough to cover pesky hairs down the neck (especially useful if you're plagued with really fine hairs in that area, like I am).

The only negative effect that combing had was that I accidentally yanked out a few hooks of hair. Oops. However, that did little, if anything, to affect the thickness of the wig. It has a ton of fiber on it, with wefts being spaced very closely throughout the wig. On the top of the wig there's only a small skin coin, but the surrounding wefts are spaced even closer. There's some shorter crimped hair at the roots closer to the hairline and all around the back and sides of the wig, but this doesn't pose much of a problem and gives the wig a nice volume boost. As shown by picture 3, a little bit of light restyling by hand can easily change the look.

Jaguar in Black (064)
1 (http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m279/lycoris128/wigs/wigreviews004.jpg) 2 (http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m279/lycoris128/wigs/wigreviews005.jpg) 3 (http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m279/lycoris128/wigs/wigreviews013.jpg) 4 (http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m279/lycoris128/wigs/wigreviews014.jpg)
Another short wig, this time in a pure black color. After combing (shots 1 and 2), the long segments in the front almost brush my collarbones, and the bangs almost reach my chin. It's a little longer at the nape than the Magnum, and aside from the front and sides of the wig it has a lot of layers.

I had similar problems with yanking a bit of hair loose, but like the Magnum this wig was no worse for the wear after and didn't shed much (if any) besides that. The wefts are spaced similarly as well, except that unlike the Magnum the roots are only crimped on the top half of the wig. No skin top, but it doesn't need one if you don't mind the small bit of crimped hair in lieu of one. Pictures 3 and 4 show the wig after some finger-styling and rapid head movement followed by finger-styling respectively.

Overall: It may be a little early to be saying this, but I think I'm in love. The way the colors are distributed across the lines is inconsistent to say the least, but if you can get past that setback then these heat-resistant wigs are quite nice for the price. The thickness of the wigs and versatility in styling are added bonus, and the spacious caps are a deal-sealer, at least for me. Texture tangle-potential are also minor disadvantages, but unless you like petting your wigs or have the unfortunate habit of abusing them then neither should be a problem.

Name of Product:Jareth
Where Purchased:Arda Wigs (http://kingdom-arts.org/colors.html)
Product Description:Punky-like wig but thicker and longer. The color is the 013;light golden blonde.Reference. (http://kingdom-arts.org/arda-wigs/jareth%20013%20light%20blonde.jpg)
Pros:Very thick. The wefts are close together and there is no crimped fiber. Excellent price for all the hair you get in this wig. Very easy to work with and get into an updo, nice hairline shape, easy to blend spikes into the hair due to the fuzzy fibre as opposed to crimped fibre.
Cons: I expected it to be floofy like the Punky right out of the bag, but it wasn't. Not a problem, though. I'm not crazy about the fibres themselves, either. They are too stringy for my taste. These fibers are more utilitarian. This wig is created to do crazy things with. In terms of fiber texture, the Punky has the Jareth beat. Punky fibres are more feathery and soft. (In my opinion.)
Overall Rating: 10. They responded quickly to all my emails, they got it to me within the designated time frame and I would recommend these wigs to anybody who wants to do updos or anything spiky for sure. I am more than satisfied with this wig. Other than my pickiness about fiber texture, this wig deserves a 10. Arda Wigs know how to make a fantastic wig. Definite repeat customer.

Let it be noted that this wig has mixed color fiber for a more natural-looking blonde. Also, the color really should be called Golden Blonde because it errs to the golden blonde side rather than "light blonde." Basically this is a slightly golder version of Cosworx's 24B color.

I'll provide some more embarrassing pictures all with flash.
Side with "good lighting" (http://i497.photobucket.com/albums/rr333/KunaiKrazy/Trunks/DSCN2587.jpg)

Right side. (http://i497.photobucket.com/albums/rr333/KunaiKrazy/Trunks/DSCN2592.jpg)

Edit:Oh, and the golden color really doesn't come out unless you are in a well-lit place. To be fair, my bulbs are yellow so that may actually play a part in bringing out the golden color.
Editedit: I find it easier to make cleaner spikes with the Punky, yet easier to construct spikes with the Jareth. From my "top" picture, you see the fuzz on the scalp. This is where the Jareth has the Punky beat. There is no crimped fibre. Because there is no crimped fibre but instead fuzzy fibre, it's easier for spikes to blend (http://i497.photobucket.com/albums/rr333/KunaiKrazy/Trunks/DSCN2600.jpg) into the base of the wig. I must also say the hairline all along the wig is very neat and realistically shaped. No need for adding wefts to cover up bald spots on this wig, no need to worry about spiking hair backwards or vertically. Pull a Vash the Stampede or Super Saiyan "____". I dare you. No awkward bulges or fear of nasty fibre showing along the hairline. The pictures speak for themselves. I dub this THE definitive Super Saiyan wig. It's just.that.thick.

Name: "Jareth" wig (http://kingdom-arts.org/Jareth.html)
Wig Brand: Arda (http://kingdom-arts.org/wigs.html)
Pictures: In my marketplace ad (http://www.cosplay.com/marketplace/showproduct.php/product/44989/cat/500) (anyone wanna buy!?)
Description: a thick, smooth, high volume wig perfect for spiking or voluminous styles. Basically a high quality punky but even thicker and longer in all aspects. I got mine in their 062 "Ash" blonde color.
Pros: Contrary to what some people say, I think this wig has better and smoother fibers than the Punky. The color is very realistic because of the mixe fiber colors. This wig is soooooooo thick and very lifted, so it's perfect for styling spikes or doing fluffy haired characters! It fits really well too.
Cons: For spiking, it isn't automatically sticking up in all directions. It lays low and isn't gravity defying right off the bat, but it's easy to make it stick up anyways. It has a lot of layers as well, so if you can't adjust to that, this probably isn't your wig.

Overall: It's a really nice wig. 4.5/5

I'm really not sure if I'm in the right section. Sorry if I'm not :(

So, recently (actually my thread is just a few scrolls down xD) I bought some stuff from Arda Wigs... I was actually going to wait to buy them, but I saw that they were leaving for two weeks so I chose to buy them now.

Okay, so just so I can explain it easier: The 18th at 4 o'clock was the last shipment they would make until they got back from traveling. So I order my things the night of the 17th. I noticed that colors were running out of stock quickly by that point, but the colors I picked said they were in stock so I thought I was fine and dandy.. o.o

Come the 18th and I leave the house in the evening. I come back at about midnight and I noticed Arda sent me an e-mail >.< (They sent it a 7 o' clock, so I'm also wondering why they didn't send me this before their last shipment, so I could have a chance to change my order? :/ But yeah.)
Basically it said that they were sorry but they just ran out of the color of the wig I wanted. They actually said that they saw my post on here earlier but didn't want to say anything because the website considers it advertising or something. Then they suggested another wig as a substitution, but it just wasn't what I wanted... So I sent them an e-mail back asking if they can just cancel my order until they get more wigs. I spent $50 and I would like to have it back to use somewhere else if I'm not even being shipped a product lol

I don't mind if I have to wait until they get back from traveling, but I'm just making sure: Do I have the right to get a refund? If so, do I have the right to get it ASAP even though they're traveling, or do I have to wait anyway (again I don't mind)? I didn't want to keep quiet and let them keep my money if that's not what I'm supposed to do... o.o How should I go about this exactly?
I was going to wait another week before I e-mail them again, if they don't e-mail me back by then.

07-20-2011, 08:35 PM
They'll send it back to you. Just give them some time. They're traveling to like three or four conventions. You WILL get it back, just chill. You might not get it back tonight but you WILL get it back. They're good honest people.

07-20-2011, 09:12 PM
It's Arda, they'll definitely refund you as soon as they can, don't worry :) I would post on their facebook page, if I were you. They respond pretty fast on there, though it might take a while since they're on the road. They won't respond to posts here because coscom will just lock the thread for "advertising" another wig company.

07-20-2011, 09:34 PM
I'm perfectly calm lol..... Not freaking out. Just honestly wondering. Like I said twice, I don't mind waiting. I just wanted to make sure that there wasn't anything else for me to do. Anyway.

Alrighty! I'll message them on their Facebook page then (in about a week). Thanks for the answer! :)

07-20-2011, 10:13 PM
They should have internet access at SDCC, and they should have it again at Otakon.

07-20-2011, 10:54 PM
They'll refund you with no problem. They're awesome and wicked professional.

07-21-2011, 02:45 AM
Of course you'll get the money back.

You need to just give people time to read your responses and reply and take action.

Just say, "no thank you, I would rather have a refund" and let them have time to read this reply before worrying.

08-05-2011, 06:12 PM
^ Weird! I didn't know my thread was added here.
Anyway, I just wanted to give an update
The person I talked to apologized for the delay and everything, and someone apparently stayed back home to look for my wig and ponytail extension. She asked if I still wanted it, and I said yes sure if they can find one. Then she said she'd forward the e-mail (between us two) to I guess it was the person that decided to stay back and that person would let me know if she found it. Awesome!

So, two days later, I get a random e-mail from Paypal saying that my package is on it's way. I never got the e-mail from the person, but I just assumed that she just forgot to e-mail me back and she shipped my wig anyway.

Fast forward to about a week, and I still haven't seen my package :( Sadface. So I e-mail the first person I talked to again, just wondering if the Paypal e-mail was correct or if it was just a mistake. I thought maybe USPS was just being a tad slow getting it to me.
She e-mails me the next day saying that she's "quite irritated" that whoever said that they would get my wig shipped, in fact didn't do it. It was really no big deal to me o.o Like I said before, I don't mind waiting. The con isn't until another two months or so, so I'm in no rush.

But anyway, she said that she's including an extra ponytail in my package for the wait! I thought that was really awesome and nice of her to do that, even though I didn't have a problem with waiting!
I quickly e-mailed her back to ask if I could choose a different color for the ponytail, since I won't need another ponytail of the color I ordered... I chose to pick out a color that I could possibly use for another outfit. But I said, if she already shipped it/doesn't want to give me another color, then it's perfectly fine! Getting a free ponytail, that would have cost me another 15 dollars, is a good enough deal.
She e-mailed me back again and said that would be fine. Oh and she said I should see my package in a day or two.

Overall, so far: I think I just ordered at a bad time. It's probably alot better to order way before they start traveling/a major convention because then wigs and color start going out of stock. Excellent, excellent customer service :D Free ponytail for the win!
Now I'm just waiting for my actual wig, but I'm sure I'm not going to be dissapointed! I'm definitely ordering from them again and probably soon

I guess I'll do a bit of a review, even though I bought my wig in person at Otakon; it's my first purchase from them after much drooling-over:

Wig style: Leia in Lavender
Comfort/Sizing: I actually have a small head (21 inch circumference, perfect for the tiny Chinese wigs lol) so their wigs are pretty big on me ^^; I like that the Leia has combs in the front of the hairline and beneath each pigtail, though the only thing that bugs me about this is that it has the undesired effect of pulling your wigcap up and over your hairline in front, which makes bangs and such more prone to peeking out. It does, however, keep the wig on and the weight of the wig means it's definitely in need of that.

Wefts: Very thick, though netting still seems to peek through at the very top of this wig. I theorize that the weight of the fiber pulls the hair down so that the fiber has a harder time 'fluffing up' to hide the netting. There is a little bit of short and crimped fiber near the crown and under the pigtails that can be tamed with hairspray or just manipulating it beneath the other fiber. The pigtails in the wig were super super duper thick, though, almost too thick for my purposes... XD this also leads to more tangling. Only a slight amount of shedding, and what does shed is inconsequential; there's plenty of fiber to go around here.

Fiber: The fiber is very soft, has a good natural sheen to it, but tangles easily. Luckily, a few coats of Motions Oil Sheen and patient combing straightens the pigtails back out, but even just transporting them gives them a few more tangles. Definitely need to keep this one tied up or braided to keep it tame.

Color: Lavender, an ice purple with a slightly 'brown' mix to it that warms the color slightly. I bought this in person so I knew what I was getting color-wise already. I bought this with the intention of dyeing it a darker purple. Which leads me to...

Styling/Heat-resistance/Dyeability: I've just finished the results of a RIT dyebath with this wig, and it takes moderately well to RIT dye at and just under boiling without at all melting (it definitely tints more than outright dyes). A tiny bit of frizzing in the bangs but a straightening iron will likely smooth them back out. Again, it's thick, and there was plenty enough bangs for me to cut big thick blunted fringe, and way more than enough in the pigtails to pull some hair from the pigtails to cut in sidepieces to create a hime cut. The pigtails are definitely meant to be kept down and cannot be put into higher pigtails; I need to tie mine up pretty tight at the base of the neck and even that is slightly troublesome.

Customer Service: I can't really say anything about customer service since I bought in person and haven't needed to contact them since, but they seemed very nice! They were helpful when I was asking them about dyeing and styling ability, as well.

I'd give this wig a 9/10 overall, if only due to tangle-proneness and the few tiny vexing details mentioned. Pleased with the quality!

Before dye, cut:

After dye:

No pics straight out of the package, sorry!

Name of Product: Magnum 050 (Spanish Brown)
Where Purchased: http://www.arda-wigs.com
Product Description: Brown, with chunky bangs and super cute!
Pros: The wig is very nicely made, and I'm very pleased with it. Even my mom was impressed, and she only buys super-expensive wigs for herself. It's also a very natural shade of brown! I love it!
Cons: I don't see any! I'm very happy with my purchase.
Overall Rating: 10
The wig hasn't been styled yet, just brushed out after I removed it from the packaging!

uh, is it okay to ask a question about Arda here ?
are their wigs okay just to wear ?
i've been thinking about getting a wig of theirs because it's heat-resistant and that's a major plus.

Name of Product: Long Ponytail Clip in Light Blonde
Where purchased: Arda Wigs
Product description: It's a really long clip-in ponytail. Very soft.
Pros:LOTS of wefts to rip off of this guy for putting into a main wig. Easy enough removable butterfly clip? The colors match perfectly to the wig. It's heat resistant so ironing the individual wefts on a cool setting on the iron is not an issue at all and it takes to straightening so well.
Cons: You're going to have to either sew the wefts together or glue them together to complete one wig-length weft because they are 6 or so inches long. It wasn't intended for harvesting anyway. So, that's more of a personal complaint. Nothing to do with the product.

Pros: Um, everything?
I hate keeping communication with people over cosplay stuff, so for everything to go so smoothly without having to ask petty questions was awesome for me. I'd never gotten any wigs from Arda but I've heard nothing but amazing things about them. I have been wanting a split wig in either white and blue or white and purple and the only shops to offer that are Arda and MintyMix. MM however was sold out of their blue so to Arda...
Ordered during their 3000 FB fan sale so I got a little discount from that. I love the texture but I know most people don't like the coarser texture. I'm used to it from the white wig I got from Coser. The clips are extremely curly, I'm a bit scared to tease them. the base wig is spacious and a nice change from the head hugging wigs I usually get. The base seems a little thin in the back but it might just be me.
Awesome wonderful wig! X3

I just got my first wig from them. I deviated from the review format here slightly to describe the shipping.

Name of Product: Claudia in Ash Blonde

Where Purchased: Arda Wigs (http://arda-wigs.com/)

Product Description: a 25-30" long curly wig.

Use: I bought this for my lolita Luna Lovegood cosplay. I also plan to use it for my regular lolita outfits.

Pros: It's made of hiperlon fiber. I'm not really familiar with this type but it's very soft and feels like real hair.

Cons: I can't really put my finger on it but something seems off about the color. It's probably just lighting though.

Shipping: I ordered the wig on Sunday but wasn't notified of it being shipped until Thrusday, it arrived on Saturday. The store was having a sale at the time of purchase so they probably had a lot more orders than usual which slowed down them down. I usually order wigs from Chinese and Hong Kong companies so it typically takes two weeks for them to arrive. It was nice having it arrive so quickly.

Overall Rating: 9.5/10

I recently purchased their Stardust wig, which is a short, punky, vibrant rainbow. I'm extremely impressed and recently made another purchase from them. I heard about them from a good ol' friend who suggested them to me as she was satisfied with her previous purchases.

Shipping was incredibly fast, they sent it out the next day and the wig arrived 2 days after that. Came perfect out of the package and it looked and felt great. Perfect fit for me and my friend with stunning quality from a distance, close up and in photos. The only downside is that it's one of their only wigs that's not heat-resistant, however, it looks stunning as it is. It was at a reasonable cost too for such a rarity of a wig, and honestly, you can't complain about the prices for the quality they are in.

Honestly, I'm in love and I'll surely be ordering more wigs from them many times

just ... gonna add to arda's rep. o uo

Name of Commissioner : Arda Wigs
Website/C.com gallery : Arda (http://www.arda-wigs.com/)
Character commissioned and series/video game (please include if this was the entire costume, just a jacket, prop, accessory, wig, etc.) : Well, only one of the wigs were for a character. I bought one Ferrari (Mako Green), one Hansel (Dark Ash Blonde), and Short Bangs (Dark Ash Blonde). The Ferrari is for a humanized BMO (Adventure Time) (http://th01.deviantart.net/fs70/PRE/i/2011/279/6/c/lsp_and_bmo_by_bitlits-d4byzif.png)
Links to picture(s) of your commissioned item : All I have is a crummy webcam. > u> Maybe I'll take some later.
Timeline (how long your order took to process) : I ordered the Ferrari and Short Bangs on Monday [the 17th], the Hansel on Tuesday [the 18th]. They were both said to be shipped on Tuesday [the 19th], and got here today [the 21st]. So the shipping itself took 2 days, and the whole process took four. That's actually pretty sweet.
Describe your Experience. Pros, Cons, Comments. : It was my birthday. So, my parents let me order from Arda as my first-time wig store. > U< I didn't have to/I didn't have the nerve to contact them. I'm extremely glad I didn't need to/my wimpiness wasn't harmful.
So I don't know anything about their customer service. ;;
Pros : (I've only opened the Hansel right now. So I'm reviewing that. I'll probably edit when I open the other envelope.)
Fast shippingggg. [For all of them.]
No shine whatsoever in the fibers.
Lovely color, and it won't look strange with my skin tone.
I've only had one wig before [and it was bought from a costume shop. Decent quality, compared to Arda.] and it was not this easy to manage. Or put on.
So easy to style. I mean, I just muss it up and it can get spikes sticking out. Or
Fun to touch. Ehehehehehehe.
So much fibers! SO MANY.
Maybe I'm just being gentle with this wig or something, but no fibers have fallen or slipped out, yet! The only stray fiber I saw was a yellow one, though there's no yellow in this wig...
editedit I opened up the Ferrari and Short Bangs ! Ferrari is beautiful, really. Curls nicely.
The Short Bangs are really nice. I used those as a test for a flat iron. It's tooootally flat-ironable. C: I'm pretty sure the other wigs are, too.
Cons :
[This is the first time I've ordered a wig, so not really any. just.]
This isn't a complaint, really. Just that in some reviews, they say Arda's really soft. I can vouch for that. But only as much as this kind of fiber will allow. It's a little stiffer than human hair, but with all those pros? I can deal.
Also, my hands feel a little funny after handling and playing with the fibers for while...
The color of the Ferrari is darker than I'd expected and wanted. But whatever, it still will work.
And the Short Bangs are confusing to put on, but I may just be stupid.
this is just my fault but my stupid gogdanged sideburns will not hide no matter how i style this thing
editx2combo So, I've noticed that, in the Ferrari, it's a little thin when you part the bangs down the middle, and the wefting shows. This won't be a problem for me, since I'm doing Saki bangs (http://www.anime-planet.com/images/characters/saki_mikajima_10313.jpg), but for others, it might.

Timeline (how long your order took to process) : I don't remember the exact dates since it's been a while, buttttttt it didn't take too long. I wasn't on a schedule but I doubt it took much longer than 2 weeks.
Describe your Experience. Pros, Cons, Comments. : No comment really. (:
Pros :
It's big enough for my big head even after I accidentally made it smaller via the pigtail stubbings.
Soft. Heat resistant.
Cons :
The onlyy con I have is the color. Some of Arda's photos aren't good for showing the color and because of the lighting... My pic is the same way - in the photo it's the same color as Arda's photo. But I was hoping it was a little more... light pink. It's a little dark but it works fine for me.

Item purchased (please include quantity) Lulu wig in lavender ( http://www.arda-wigs.com/ )

Links to picture(s) of your received item (Will post soon when I find my camera!)

Timeline (how long your order took to process) Ordered it, got an email saying it shipped a day or two afterwards, and got it roughly a week later. This was amazing, considering I chose free shipping.

Describe your Experience. Pros, Cons, Comments. Oh my God, this wig is gorgeous! It looks so, so natural, even though it's lavender-colored. And the wig is so, SO thick! Beautiful! The fibers aren't what I'd call soft, but the plus side to that is that it feels and looks like real hair. This also helps keep the fibers together if you want to play around with styling a little bit. Not only are there lavender-colored fibers, but there are darker fibers too, creating highlights and lowlights. It's astoundingly beautiful. And I'm also very happy that the wig is made to fit larger head sizes. (Don't worry, you can adjust them to be smaller if you need to.) I am also very pleasantly surprised that the wig looks even better in real life than it did in the website's photos!

Product: Jareth in 063 (silver), and Magnum in 081 (Platinum Blonde)

Purchased at: www.Arda-wigs.com, Cosplay.com market

I bought the Jereth for my Riku cosplay, seeing as it was a great style and color, and great price for a US merchant. I ordered it, and they e-mailed me saying they just ran out of the fiber and had to buy more, and if i wanted a different wig in a different color at the same price, i can choose. I said no and had waited an extra week before they sent me another e-mail saying they shipped it out. 3 days after, the wig arrived, and i was so happy!
I bought the magnum here on this site's marketplace, because i thought it was perfect to spike into a Cloud wig. When i received it, it was missing the net that usually came with one, but it was okay since it wasn't from a legit merchant. I loved the fibers, and the style was so cute i didn't want to cut it.

PROS: Great fibers, very soft and realistic, not glossy like most kanekalon wigs, since they usually use Hyperlon fiber. It barely tangled, it fits comfortably on my head (my head is big enough that some times, the asian wigs give me a headache), and not much styling is really needed. If i need to style, the fibers take on products extremely well. Customer service was great and very kind.

CONS: For my Jareth wig, on the crown of the wig, the fibers are kind of messy, and shows the wig cap. No matter what i do, it always shows, but it's not like that with my magnum, so i 'm wondering if it was just because it was a Jareth. Another thing is that, because they make such big wig caps, the fibers tend to curve a bit bigger around that(like, it won't hug your face). When i put it on, it makes my head and face look rounder, so I had to use the hot water method, to get it less poofy.

Rate 9/10, one point off because my Jareth wig was a bit off at the crown, but i LOVE Arda wigs! Will definitely buy from and recommend them :)

uh, is it okay to ask a question about Arda here ?
are their wigs okay just to wear ?
i've been thinking about getting a wig of theirs because it's heat-resistant and that's a major plus.

Yes, I wear them all the time. To the store, out to eat, wherever, theyre really good quality wigs so yes u totally can. :bigtu: and you can do what ever you want as long as your confident about it:rolleyes:

12-11-2011, 03:07 AM
this is to the person who asked if it was ok to wear arda wigs around town (and not just for cosplay) i answered this before but it was kind of unclear as to the question i was answering. anyway, i wear arda wigs (and other cosplay wigs) everywhere. they dont have to be "only for cosplay" i think cosplay wigs are soooo fun. so i love wearing them anywhere and everywhere. if your confident enough to do it, then yes, its :o

Has anyone bought a wig in maroon? I'm wondering whether it's closer to the swatch or closer to the picture of an actual wig. The actual picture looks like ginger.

Has anyone bought a wig in maroon? I'm wondering whether it's closer to the swatch or closer to the picture of an actual wig. The actual picture looks like ginger.

Yeah...they haven't updated those old color previews yet, it looks like. Kinda hard to tell. But, if you look at the top sample image for the Hansel (http://ardawigs.ipage.com/OldSite/Hansel.html), that is a more accurate-to-life example of the 018 Maroon. (It's totally an awesome color, probably my second fav that they have thus far.)

This past holiday season, they had their 4k Facebook likes sale, so I leapt at the chance to buy something from these people that I heard sold fantastic wigs. So, I bought ponytail clips with the intention of using it for a Zatsune Miku cosplay.

Product: 2 Long ponytail clips in Black (064)
Purchased at: http://www.arda-wigs.com/
Timeline:My order was processed and shipped in 2 business days, and got to my house 6 business days later, so about a week.
Pictures: I have a crappy camera that wouldn't do these justice, so no pictures, sorry.
Pros: Shipping took only 8-9 days to get to where I live. Fibers are matte and realistic looking, they photograph like or better than real hair. The fibers themselves also feel like real hair. Very thick too. Heat resistance is good so I can straighten it with a flat iron when the tangles make it frizzy.
Cons:Tangles moderately, even with Motions Oil Sheen spray applied. Semi-difficult to detangle with fingers. I know all longs wigs tangle, but if the fiber used in Arda wigs are supposed to be easier and less prone to tangling (so I heard from other cosplayers), I'm scared to think about if I had a long wig from another company. >.< Sheds, sometimes as many as 4-8 hairs at a time, just by running my fingers through it gently 8 out of 10 times. But this kind of isn't a problem, as I'll mention below.

Comments: Many people have described the fibers as 'silky' but they aren't silky. They're not excessively coarse and rough either, just not soft. Another thing is, that I noticed if I ran my hands through the fibers of the ponytail a lot, it left my hands feeling weird, like with some kind of residue, oil, or something. Whether it's to prevent it from tangling or what, I don't know. I'm getting a Blue Steele wig from them soon, so I'll edit this with my findings. About the mild shedding; it's not exactly a problem because they're pretty thick, and one or two hairs at a time won't make a difference.

EDIT: The Blue Steele I got today also had that weird residue that made my hands feel weird. Maybe it's just a wig thing?

Pictures: I have a crappy camera that wouldn't do this wonderful wig justice, so no pictures, sorry.
Pros: Shipping is super fast. Fibers look and feel realistic. The wig cap is so roomy, It can fit my huge head comfortably, no headaches! :D
Cons: None that I can think of.

Purchased: Lulu wig in light brown (070B)
Picture of Product: http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m0fzddxlAZ1qih813.jpg
Cosplay that it will be used for: North Italy (Axis Powers: Hetalia)
-Right color and right style as the pictures on the website show. (No surprises)
-Wig cap isn't too big, or too small. (on my head anyway)
-The wig is thick and has enough hair. There are no parts on the wig where it would be considered too sparse.
-Shipping took a little long. I had to wait all five business days and three days for shipping. I live a couple states over from where they are based. (I should mention that they just got back from a convention and were getting a whole new stock + having the sale. So these could've been factors as to why.)
-The wig texture has a little bit of a prickly texture to it, but not much.

Grade: 9.5/10

Overall, everything was wonderful. The service was nice, and I got exactly what I expected. I took half a point off because of the long shipping time, but again, as I mentioned before, that could be due to the fact they they were busy with many things.

From my experience, I would recommend you order it at least two weeks in advance. They do also have overnight shipping I believe, though it's about five times as much for shipping. Though I honestly don't think/hope that most people would be ordering that close to the time they need it.

Name of Product: Jett in light blue
Where Purchased: the website
Product Description: short spiky wig (no pictures yet, I'm still working on it)

Sooooo...being as all the other wigs I wanted to use as a base for Roronoa Zoro were either discontinued or just plain not right (too thin, etc), I finally got my first Arda wig. I spent a lot of time researching on both their own site info as well as their forums to confirm that their heat-resistant wigs could still be dyed, as I need to tint this wig a slight shade of minty green to get it the perfect shade of seafoam-green that Zoro's hair really is, in the anime anyway.

Weeeeell...should have dug deeper on the wig forums here instead. The dye is NOT taking, even after repeated rinsings my fingers are still coming out green whenever I attempt to work with the wig. I had to hand-color the entire thing in the end, because ink-dyeing just didn't take at all, but it doesn't seem like anything besides possibly RIT will actually dye these wigs. I was unable to finish the wig in time to debut, so I've put it on the shelf for now and will come back to it eventually, mostly hoping that I don't have to strip off all the ink and try RIT instead.

Pros: right base style for what I needed, fast shipping
Cons: not as dyeable as rumors would let on. Also, I really am not a fan of the heat-resistant fiber. It was not soft like I'm used to, it was very coarse (not counting the frizzed under layer for spiking, I mean the actual straight fiber) and unpleasant to touch. It seems to happily restyle itself just by moving it with my fingers, which is not something I want in a finished Zoro wig. Finally, the wig cap was HUGE. I had to actually sew the elastic along the under-ear edge on both sides in order to shorten it so that it would stay on my head - and I have an above-average head! I had to move one of the wefts in order to take in the excess elastic, something I was not expecting to do.
Overall Rating: 0-10 (0 is poor, 10 is excellent) 5. Honestly, I was willing to give heat-resistant wigs a shot, but this just isn't living up to the hype. It's very average.

Name of Commissioner : Arda Wigs
Product: Exchange a Magnum Long wig (Platinum Blonde) for a Ferrari wig in Maroon
Purchased at: http://www.arda-wigs.com/
Timeline: One week for the Magnum wig to arrive because of the sale. 5 days for the ferrari to come to the mail after I send the Magnum wig back to Arda.
Pictures: None at the moment.
Character commissioned and series/video game (please include if this was the entire costume, just a jacket, prop, accessory, wig, etc.) : I originally bought the Magnum Long wig for Emil (Tales of Symphonia 2). Then Exchange it for Ferrari wig for Richter (Tales of Symphonia 2)
Describe your Experience Pros, Cons, Comments: I first bought the wig around the sale of March and while I heard many good reviews about the store, I was nervous buying my first arda wig. I couldn't pass a good sale like this, so I went forward and bought a wig. It took a while for my order to process because of the sale, but I was happy and waited for the wig. It took a week or so, and finally my wig arrived. The wig itself was beautiful with the right size and all, but the color wasn't as what I though it be. In the monitor it look more natural blonde but looking it in person it was still too yellow for my taste. I heard that Arda has an exchange wig policy as long as I didn't wear it and it comes with the conditions as it arrived through the mail.
I contacted an Arda representative and they responded really fast as well as made a note that I would be sending the wig at their location. Once they received the wig (took 3 days), they later send my Ferrari Wig to my apartment in 2 days. I was happy with this wig, because it was the right shade of red I was looking for and it was very soft. I adjusted the wig which fit perfectly on my head.

- Is the right shade of red I needed. Its neither too dark nor light.
-Wig has enough volume to make nice full bangs and it looks realistic.
-Shipping was fast
-None so far

Grade: 10/10
I was more impress with the wig exchange policy since most places I go to, won't do that. Plus because of the sale, I expected some late delay but overall it wasn't too bad. The communication between me and Arda was excellent, that they were kind enough to not charge me the difference price of Magnum and Ferrari. I just needed to pay for 5$ for shipping.

I haven't seen any reviews of their lace front wigs, so I figure I'll chime in!

Name of Product: Matilda in Pumpkin (http://arda-wigs.com/collections/matilda)

Where Purchased: ACen

Product Description: Absolutely stunning wig. I was looking for something for my Jessica Rabbit costume and knew I wanted a natural looking red that would be luxurious and stunning and that didn't have a hard front, but I didn't want to have to refront a wig, so I was absolutely thrilled to find a cosplay site that actually had lace front wigs! I was even more thrilled to find out that they were attending a con near me so that I could look at and purchase the wig there, saving a couple bucks on shipping.

Picture of the wig in use. (http://i1088.photobucket.com/albums/i329/SaraHuebs/Snapshot_20120523_12.jpg)

Pros: Absolutely amazing price for a lace front wig. Seriously, I don't think I can emphasize what a great deal $65 is for a lace front, especially one with such lovely fibers. Which brings me to the next point: the lack of shine! It's wonderfully realistic and photographs well, with no unseemly shine and a wonderful, natural looking blend of colors. I haven't had the need to do any styling, so I can't say how well it holds up to heat, but it came out of the bag in exactly the style I needed, so I can't really complain. I also loved the large size of the cap, as I have a lot of hair to keep under the wig, so it's nice to not have to use as many pins to keep the wig on.

Cons: This is super finnicky and really a complaint about all machine fronted wigs, but the hairline is just so unnatural looking and solid. However, and we're back to a pro here really, the lace was easy enough to ventilate on that I was able to make the hairline a little more natural looking myself with some hair I cut out of the back of the wig. (It wasn't missed, as the wig is so thick.)

Overall Rating: 9.8/10 Honestly, the most beautiful wig I own.

Name of Product: Blue Steele in Light Grey (107)

Where Purchased: Arda Wigs

Product Description: Very short in the back with long, chin level bangs in the front.

Pros: Though it's very short in the back it's still thick enough to keep everything underneath covered. The bangs are extreely thick as well. The color was a very nice blend of light greys. It didn't quite look silver. (I've dyed it since, since a darker grey is not available.) The cap was nice and comfortable. it was a bit large, but adjustable, so it worked well. Sturdy and nice quality for a great price. Arda's shipping was very fast as well. I had it within the week.

Cons: The colors available are limitted for this one, but I have no issues with the wig itself or Arda's service.

Overall Rating: 10/10 Great wig, great site.

Name of Product: Long Weft - Titanium Blonde (AR017)

Where Purchased: Arda Wigs

Product Description: This Blonde is a Very Bleached Blonde Color. A color between Silver 063 & Ash Blonde 062. Blended and Heat Resistant.
Long wefts! Long wefts everywhere!
These wefts are nothing but a 5 foot long string of sewn fiber.
The length of the hair is 90cm. WOW! WHAT A DEAL!
These weigh a ton. No lie.

Pros: The perfect color for Yami Marik/Marik or anyone that has a very faint blonde tint to their hair. The wefts are nice and smooth.

Cons: The wefts tangle really easily. It was rather difficult for me to separate the wefts to work with them. =/ They are actually just in a ball now in the bag I got them in.

Overall rating; 7/10

Name of Product: Cady, black
Where Purchased:Arda Wigs
Product Description: Short, messy lace-front wig
Pros: VERY thick, oh my goodness! The fibres were great to work with and styled well with just hairspray and teasing. It fit well on my head to the point where I barely noticed I had it on until I looked in a mirror. It all held up VERY well after a long night of dancing like an idiot, thanks also to a liberal use of bobby pins.
Cons: It was a bit expensive, but it was totally worth the price. This next point is directed more at Arda itself rather than the wig. I ordered mine on the 16th of July and told it was shipped out, but I never received any information other than that. It was well past the date when it should have arrived before I contacted them again. Their customer service is FANTASTIC, the person I talked to was very polite and reasonable, and it got shipped out soon after I talked to them. After that little roadbump, it got here quickly. So I guess a word of warning, buy from them early just in case something goes wrong!
Overall Rating: 10. This was a great purchase, and I would totally buy from them again!

So Arda-Wigs had their 10001LIKES sale this weekend, so excitedly I decided WHY THE HELL NOT?! I had been eyeing the Jasmine Wig and the Malinda for a LONG LONG TIME (Since July) so I jumped at the opportunity to get my hands on them ones the Wig sale began. I decided to give them an extra chance since mostly everyone is raving about their wigs and not their wefts.

Now onto the review that I am dreading of making since the wigs just got here today and I kept telling all of my friends to buy from them, going with the flow of "ARDA'S AMAZINGGG' bandwagon only to be severely disappointed.
Since I bought two wigs, I shall be making two separate reviews.

Name of Product: Jasmine 064 (Black)
Where Purchased: Arda Wigs
Product Description: Attached Ponytail wig.

Pros: Its an attached ponytail. .__. Thats the only pro I can see at the current moment.

Cons: Jesus Christ, I don't know if this was because they were having a sale or they really do not care about the packaging. At first I was like, "OH SNAPS. THEY PUT THEM IN A BOX." But then I opened the box and see the Jasmine wig wrapped around in layers of plastic. I'm like "Hn..that's a strange way to package...a wig." So I unwrap it, and the wig TANGLES. the ponytail part of the wig was just frizzy. To the lack of my better judgement, I did what Arda's website says. I took out the ponytail so I can mount it onto my head and redo the ponytail. PFFFT, nope. Its IMPOSSIBLE to fix this wig on your head in order to get the proper height that you need for whatever ponytail needs you might need. The wig slips off (Arda did warn about this, so I guess its not much of a con) and even with the three combs (that are on the undersides of the wig and for some reason the top comb is not even CENTERED and its off to the side.) I guess I could fix it, if the damn wig fibers didn't get in the way and tangled every time I touch it. I swear I feel like I need to use the Silicon Spray method on this wig to make sure that I won't have a ponytail bag of mess.
Now onto the wig fibers.
What the hell has everyone been raving about?! I have gotten silkier wigs on Ebay for $20 + free shipping that do not tangle this much. While combing the wig in order to style it and to get the tangles out (wide tooth comb mind you), the wig decided to shed. A brand new wig, shedding on the floor as I am trying to style this to a tighter and higher ponytail. I have gotten wigs from Clarrissa's Kids on Ebay, and it took 5 brutal washes, and hair pulling brushes until the wig started to shed. All bashing aside. The wig fibers are not silky. I can barely get my fingers to go through it without running into tangles. They aren't coarse but hell, it sure does not look like real hair like the rest of my wigs from Ebay do.

Also, it is not even a real ponytail.
Did I forget to mention that?
As I took the ponytail out, I noticed something strange in the back of the wig's cap. As the fibers are parted to the side or something, there is a mass of short, short wig fibers, all matted and frizzy. Now, I don't know if that is a pro or a con, since I would imagine that more wig fiber = more hassle but it looks so bad when the fibers aren't layered over each other properly.

I shall be taking photos of what I am talking about since I might be ranting about stupid things.

Overall Rating: (0 being the lowest, 10 being the highest) 4.
Yes. A 4. Even if it is my first Arda wig, my expectations were not even remotely met. I have heard only good things about them, but..this was hardly a good thing...And it was extremely expensive as well.

Name of Product: Malinda 014 (Titanium Blonde)
Where Purchased:Arda Wigs
Product Description: A wig perfect for gravity defying spikes!

Pros: Right color.

Cons: Its so THIN. WHAT GRAVITY DEFYING SPIKES ARE THEY TALKING ABOUT?! I was messing around with the fibers, trying to see how 'thick' Arda claimed it to be, and BAM moved one layer of fibers, ginormous hole of wig cap can be seen. I was appalled. I even asked them specifically on their Facebook page what wig would be good for styling Yugioh style hair and they told me to wait since they have a perfect surprise for DBZ, Yugioh and any other character with insane spiky hair. So I did. And I waited. And waited. Then AMG THE MALINDA CAME OUT. I was so psyched with this wig, that I was imagining how epic it will be to not have to deal with adding wefts to add thickness and fullness to this wig that was supposed to make my life easier.
They forgot to add that you need to buy a pack of wefts when purchasing this wig. Thankfully I bought some in July that should of been a clear warning to what Arda clearly seems to be so now I have to figure out, how to get the wefts out of the knots (silicon spray anyone), and get it onto the a wig that was specifically made to be spiked and needless of adding wefts. :/

Overall Rating: (0 being the lowest, 10 being the highest)
A 2. Seriously, the fact that I wasted money on this wig, just because it was the right color, is pissing me off the more I think about it. I expected so much more out of Arda but its been such a damn let down. :/

I am going to stick to Ebay for my wig purchases for now on if I ever have to buy another wig. I am sorry Arda, but you lost a customer that had so much faith in you. :'[

Hm...my turn?
Name of Product: Magnum Long, Black
Where it was purchased: Arda Wigs
Product Description: Longer version of their Magnum style with a quarter size skin-top
Pros: This wig...it is so soft..and thick..and downright easy to work with. Plus...it looks so realistic without any weird shine like some black wigs
Cons: None really except for a mistake on my part, I wasn't expecting actual Shoulder legnth, I assumed it'd just bursh the shoulders, so I did trim quite a bit off
Overall Rating: Soild 10. This is one of the best wigs I've ever purchased

Awright, got two wigs in from Arda's sale today.

First one:

Eowyn in Pumpkin

Took a couple days to ship, about a day and a half to get on my doorstep. I have to say, I'm extremely pleased with this wig. It's beautiful and so soft. I knew it would be gorgeous because I'm a frequent Arda customer, but I didn't expect it to be as soft as it is! Usually Arda's fibers are a little course, but this wig is so silky smooth.

Rating: 10

Next one:

Inigo in Sandy Brown

I was surprised at how soft this wig was as well. I'm very happy with it. The only problem is that the top is fuzzy where the part is. It's not noticeable (in fact, it looks natural) and I smoothed it out a bit, but I think I would've liked it to be smoother up top.

Rating: 9

Very happy!

Name of Product: Jett, Light Blonde; Short Wefts, Light Blnde
Where Purchased: Arda Wigs
Product Description:
-This rocking short spiky style has no skin top, just lots of fluffy hair on top.
-Short, crimped wefts stay exactly where you put them.
-Comb flat or shake right out of the bag for a wild look.
-Overall length of this wig is approx 2'' to 2.5''.
-All colors are heat resistant hiperlon fiber.
Pros: Love the color blend owo Nice golden color, though my parents called it Orange at first >.> The wig is really comfy and is a really nice boyish style to the point where I could probably pass as a boy if I didn't have D-cups .w. Wig fibers are nice and short to the point where they are impossible to tangle. Fast shipping, too.
Cons: The fibers are a tad bit coarse and the fibers don't seem to like spiking up like they advertised on the website. My biggest complaint, however, is the fact that they put too few wefts in the back and you can see through the wig a little bit. I had bought the wefts to make a ponytail, but it looks like I'm doing some wig repair as well ._.
Overall Rating: 9/10, my only major complaint was the quality of the back

Name of Product: Claudia in Dark Brown
Where Purchased: Arda Wigs
Product Description:
The curls on this wig are amazing. Arda always does a wonderful job with curls. They are so nice and boingy. They do have a little fizzyness to them, but nothing you would notice from far away. The part at the top is off the the side, which is a bit odd, but it doesn't detract from the value of this wig. Though the top part of this wig is flat and not curly, be careful brushing. I brushed just the top part of this wig and it still messed up the curls (though it looks fine the way I styled it.) The wig cap is quite large I have to have the hooks very far in, but it still fits well. Very easy to style, nice soft and natural.

Name of Product: Indigo in Black
Where Purchased: Arda Wigs
Product Description:
This wig has a weird texture compared to other Arda wigs. It's very coarse. The top even has a little fuzzy teased part, which I wish would have been better described or pictured on their website as it looked rather odd on. Either way it functioned the way it should have so all is good.

Name of Product: Blue Steele & 2 curly Clips in Hot Pink
Where Purchased: Arda Wigs
Product Description: The blue Steele is a wonderful wig! It is so great to use as a base wig for ponytails. It sits flat on my head and is very easy to wear. The fibers are super short so if you just wanted really short hair this would work as well. I cut the bangs on this wig and that was very easy to do. The extra long bangs that they send their wigs with work very very well.
The curly clips have amazingly awesome curls! When wearing them I love to bounce up and down because the curls bounce with me. I had some troubles with the clips showing but it wasn't a big deal. It was easily fixed by moving the fibers around.

Name of Product: Braid buns in bubblegum
Where Purchased: Arda Wigs
Product Description:
I got these while they were discounted for factory errors. So some of my issues would not stand true to the current batch of them. Mine have some very visable glue spotches from where they glued the wefts to the netting. One also has a ink stain on it. But over all these worked well and served their perpouse. You couldn't see the defects unless you looked very hard.

Name of Product: Le Tigre Long in Apple
Where Purchased: Arda Wigs
Product description: This was the first time I bought from Arda and I don't think I'll buy from anywhere else. I ended up having to switch my order from the Eowyn to the Le Tigre Long because I found new color references and the Eowyn didn't come in Apple. I Emailed them the day after I placed my order and received Emails saying that they just switched my order personally right then and adjusted my payment. Got my wig in the mail 2 days later. I was floored by how efficient and quick the transaction was, and how friendly the person handling my stupid, abrupt order change was.
The wig itself is gorgeous, long, and silky. Love the color. Fits great. So happy with this order overall. (Sorry, no pictures. ><)

Wig: Magnum
Color: Lavender

The Magnum is very nice and soft, and the color is wonderful. My only complaint is that, depending on how the bangs are positioned, it's easy to see through to the netting. A little thin in that respect, but so long as I keep the fibers positioned right, everything should be fine.

Rating: 4

Would've been a 3 for the thinness, but the overall quality of the wig makes it a 4.

Name of Product: Le Tigre Long (Rose Pink)
Where Purchased: http://www.arda-wigs.com
Product Description: Dark pink with other pinks mixed in

Con: I brought this wig because a friend recommended them, but now I will think twice about ordering from them again. As a a poster said about. It wasn't as soft. I gently pulled it out of the bag and as soon as it was freed it became a static, tangled mess. Combing it was a chore. While I was trying to get it smooth so I can cut bangs and some length off, I spent more time coming it straight then actually doing it. Took 3 hours at least and I still haven't even done the wefts yet.

The hair also had a sticky residue on it like gel or hairspray. It also did not help the task of getting it smooth for styling and it made my hands sticky as well. I have to go spend more money to get products to find a way to salvage this wig to be used. I've never had this problem before with a long wig.

On top that the crimping detail thing at the bang area is a nightmare. When cutting bangs, it caused them to angle and lift from my face. I had to thin out the bulk and they still look like a horrble frizzy mess, which I may try to straighten in hopes that will make them look decent. You seriously cannot move this wig without it becoming a nightmare

Arda has yet to respond to me about this situation.

The only PRO I have is the color and thickness. Though I am sure I've thinned out the wig enough trying to keep it smooth so I can style it.

I just bought a Lulu (Maroon) wig from Arda Wigs and it just came in. I love it!! It's so perfect! Although, it's super humongous on my head (gotta use the straps in the back to make it smaller, plus use extra bobby pins to keep it in place! But the color is perfect, and it's really good fiber to me (something that won't tangle too easily!)
