View Full Version : [RUSSIA - APH] Cheap DYI Cosplay

Behold, my sexy self (^^) in my trench coat (http://th05.deviantart.net/fs70/PRE/i/2011/019/8/1/snowy_days_by_nkedwards90-d37lgfj.jpg).

Now, also avert your eyes away from that image and allow yourself to see the Russia CD Cover (http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100117153220/hetalia/images/1/19/Hetalia_Russia_CD.png).

I need help! I have the correct "dress pants (http://s7d5.scene7.com/is/image/Cavenders/00082TN1_1?wid=300&hei=450&op_usm=2,1,5,0)" for the cosplay. I understand they aren't exactly the same, but the pants ought to be close enough from what I can get out of the picture, plus, most of the pants will be covered in by the coat.

The only thing I'm gonna need is a wig, the scarf, and the gloves. I need help with these, what do you suggest?

Special thanks to C. Marie for the idea.

I think it could work ^^

When I saw that coat, I immediately thought of Russia's CD cover.

Of course, you can still do what you plan on. :)

Yay, thanks for the kind words. Do you know where I could get that scarf and gloves?

By the way, I really like this character if you wanna know why I want to cosplay as him. Plus, I'm 5'11, or Russia's exact height. Yay for me!

Unfortunately, I could not find a really good set of gloves or a scarf in that particular pattern. :/ Since they match, the best bet would be to make them.

I did find a scarf (http://cgi.ebay.com/Unisex-Soft-Shemagh-Scarf-Keffiyeh-Check-Plaid-Purple-/370354471811?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item563ad8c383). How's that one for it? I realize it's a bit short...

OO I think that would look fine, it's just that it's wrapped around the mannequin a lot. It says it's about 73 inches (unless that's centimeters, but you could always ask).

I'm still on the lookout for gloves. If push came to shove I suppose you could use these and cut the tops off. I do apologize heartily that they're women's gloves ^^;;;; but they were the only ones I were able to find on ebay.

Another option:
I've never made gloves before, but you could consider buying an extra of that scarf that you found and making gloves out of it. This has the added benefit of matching exactly, like it does in Russia's picture.
