View Full Version : Tackling Hitmonchan

I'm trying to male a Hitmonchan (http://b.domaindlx.com/cg103006/sky_wondermails/images/107.jpg) costume for my brother, but I'm not so sure how do deal with the shoulder pads and the head.

For the (mascot) head, I was thinking that I could just take a regular, round helmet, make the face out of cardboard, then cover them both with brown nylon/spandex and attach them. (Hitmonchan's head is interestingly-shaped. (http://www.hardrock-pokemon.com/image/cache/Pokemon-Bandai-Full-Color-Advance-15-Figure-Hitmonchan-Back-500x500.jpg)) BUT! I'd like some advice regarding what to do for the shoulders, and I'm still open to suggestions for his head.

I don't have too much knowledge in working with foams, but it looks like you could use a piece of foam, modify it and cover it in a fabric, then attach that to your body garment. At least that's what i'm guessing at, hope this helps
