View Full Version : Searching for reliable place to order a Corset

(I apologize if this is a repeat topic, but I searched this section of the forum and couldn't find a thread that answered my question.)

I'm currently planning a Steampunk affair with some people and we'd like to get proper corsets. I understand that they can be pricey, and it's to be expected if we want something of good quality.

However, I can't seem to find any websites that are reliable that also take measurements for building custom sized corsets.

Does anyone have the website or email of a reliable source for purchasing a corset?
If you have personally ordered from them, please say so in your comment.

Haven't ordered from their website, but I have bought a corset from them in person, at an anime convention. They have pre-made corsets in a wide range of sizes, fabrics, and styles, as well as the option of custome made. On top of all that, they are quite friendly ^-^

I strongly recommend Damsel in This Dress corsets, I got a couple of corsets from her, very high quality, and depending on what you're looking for, they can be under a hundred bucks easy.

With the custom corset she made me, she was quick to respond to messages, and was patient with me when I changed my mind on some details a couple of times, and I get it relatively quickly, within a couple of weeks. You can convo her about custom corsets.

You know how cheaper corsets buckle when you sit down and then stay that way until you unbend the wires? This isn't even a possibility with her corsets.

It should be noted that if you are looking into an actual, waist-training corset, you should definitely mention this to your commissioner or consult a corset expert before buying from a shop. Real, waist-training corsets are NOT meant to be worn by just anyone and you can very badly hurt yourself by trying to wear one with no experience.

Silvana_Girl makes beautiful corsets. :) Here is her Marketplace ad: http://www.cosplay.com/marketplace/showproduct.php/product/23603/cat/all

I just received my commission from her, and it's so pretty! Good structure, doesn't bend funny when I wear it, and it's comfortable~ The price was fair, too, so I definitely recommend her work. :D

A friend of mine ordered from here, and I have worn the corset. It came in good time, and they were quite comfortable. They also let you send them fabric to make it with for custom orders.

I'm a fan of Timeless Trends (http://www.timeless-trends.com), though they go through stock quite quickly. However, they do sell quality products and are worth the wait if they're out of your size when you first look.

If you know that you have a not-average-length torso, Corset Story (http://www.corset-story.com/) offers premade corsets with a variety of busk lengths.

I believe Timeless Trends' corsets only come in 11-11.5" busks, which some of my friends have had issues with.

I own a Timeless Trends corset and love it to bits. It's sturdy and possible to lace even if you don't have a dressing assistant. ;) I bought mine at a convention where TT had a stall, though, so it was possible to get measured by a professional and browse for the proper fit. I have not ordered from them online, though now that I have my corset size I may do so in the future. Good bang for your buck, in my opinion. Mine was an underbust at about $100.

Innervison on etsy is another good place. I bought my grey and purple one from them and it is fantastic
