I don't know about these...
Objects in question (http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_02qPrPs5Jg4/TFqK3XyXARI/AAAAAAAAAB8/0DmHxw7IzM8/s1600/Miku-Hatsune-VN02-mix-1.jpg)
taken off figure (http://www.nakoko.com/hatsune-miku-18-vn02_46640_r141853.jpg)
I'm pretty sure the I'm gonna make them out of insulation foam so that they're light but how to attach! The little "arm"-like holders... I'm kinda completely stumped on what to make those out of so that they hold the wings and maybe bend too? I am going to make the wings breakdownable so they will fit in my suitcase (27-30" diagonal?). Also I need to figure out some sort of harness so I can wear these! Help me please! Also any tips for constructing the wings themselves would be nice -^w^-

A side note; I don't own the figure but I'm saving up for it <3

It's a gorgeous figure, I even got a purple version custom painted. :D

this is a bit of a tricky one due to how far out they stick. I'd probably recommend having them attached to some sort of belt harness, with fishing line running from the tips to shoulder straps to keep them suspended.

I'd suggest using PVC pipe to make the armatures the "wings" are attached to. Create a back harness using two pipe flanges (http://www.mcmaster.com/param/asp/PSearch2.asp?reqTyp=parametric&act=psearch&FAM=plasticppf&FT_138=1757&session=plasticppf;138=1757&ScreenWidth=1280&McMMainWidth=1006) as the connection points. PVC pipe also stays together with no cement so you can disassemble the armatures for storage/travel. (if its not working, the link is to mcmaster.com search for pipe flange)

@Orannis- AH! So it was you who got that figure! *o* I saw pictures of it on google and I looooove it!

Thanks to both of you! I'll probably have to pop into Lowes and ask around for what might be the option in terms of size vs. weight but I'm sure it'll work regardless :D
