View Full Version : Lal Mirch Props

I DID see another thread about this. But... It was sort of confusing to me. Said poster seems to have everything already done, and there didn't seem to be any information I could have gotten from the thread. But... If this thread doesn't belong here, feel free to throw some rocks at me and delete this.

Okay... So... I've got most things under control, like the top, the shorts, the shoes, the bandages, and most likely the cloak, and the goggles/headphones things (because of some great, really simple tutorials I found off youtube), box weapons, pacifier, and etc.

But... There are some things...

Her arm weapon. I found a tutorial on youtube for this... But it was much too confusing to follow.

Hopefully... This is the right one. If it's a wrong link, I'll give you the right one once you reply.

Then... There's the darn gorilla mask.
I must say. I'm deathly (maybe not deathly) afraid of plaster, for reasons that I will not mention, and I simply FAIL at paper mache, one way or another, whether it's possible to fail at that or not...
I will use it as an ABSOLUTE last resort, but I want to see what you guys have to say about her gorilla mask.
I am not going to wear the mask. It will forever be velcro'd or taped or whatnot to my shoulder, so I'm not aiming for it to fit around the face. :crest: But she never wears the mask, so that's okay!
A ref: (I apologize that I can't find a full view of her mask anywhere...)
Pictures of Lal Mirch with a full view of her mask are rare.... So this is harder than I thought originally... But it's symmetrical.:alien:

Yep. I've generally got the time, since the AnimeNext isn't 'til June, but I'm a known procrastinator and do-things-wrong-inator, so it's best to start early.

Oh... A... Bonus?

Does anyone know if I'd be able to make her centipede? And perhaps have it wrapped around my leg or something? I know of somebody on Deviantart who cosplayed as Lal and made a collapsible centipede.
I don't want an extremely long one... But still long enough that it's a couple of feet. Like 5. Okay... Maybe that IS long. I don't really care if it's collapsible or not, I just want to know if it's possible to make one that bends, so I can... I don't know... Tape it onto my leg? Or arm? Or... ^^;lil
Here's.... A reference.... Desu.

I apologize for all the LONG URLs... I'm still trying to figure out how to disguise them as words.

If any of you want links to the tutorials on youtube I found (box weapon, goggles/headset, pacifier), or maybe want to know how I'm doing something for Lal's cosplay, just reply and I'll get back...

I apologize for my rambling. I'm also well known by my friends as a rambler...:untrust::crest:

I've made an almost fullview shot of the Gorilla mask using a screenshot from Reborn episode 104. http://a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/261383_2230951096369_1325616309_32657848_6400401_n .jpg

For the mask, I suggest using White Crayola model magic and painting it dark gray/whatever colour the mask is. Model magic is similar to clay, except it (usually) only sticks to itself, and not other objects like skin, clothes, and hair. (Unless you actually attempt to make it do so.) It's soft and easy to work with, and air-dries within 24 hours, meaning that if you open a package or tub, you better finish by that time unless you want it to harden. Model magic can be found at a craft store or walmart, usually in the kids section/the crayola section.

As for the other stuff, I have little - no idea how to make them. Sorry. D:
