Sooooooooooooo I have a lovely laptop that holds 29.2GB and lately its been saying that I have little and no disk space available. Which is weird because a week ago it had 11.3 GB free ( and last night) I haven't downloaded anything and I don't think I have a virus, I have spybot and it didn't find anything significant. I cleaned up all of my temporary files etc etc.
Any suggestions? Has this happened to anyone else?
I run Windows XP

Well spybot is an anti spyware program, it isn't a full anti virus program, so you could still have a virus.
Is it allowing you to download programs still? If so I would download AVG or Avast and run them.
What happens when you delete something, so it show more free space, or does it suddenly appear eaten up?

Now its says that I have 15.1 GB of free space..... WTF? The space appears to change at will, because 20 minutes ago it was 7.4GB.... So weird. I'll try seeing if I have a virus with an anti-viral scan (they offer 5000 different ones of the internet...)

Uhh. I'm pretty sure it's basic common knowledge that if you're gonna run a computer on the Internet to do anything you really need to have an anti-virus. AVG has a free edition that is good. I wouldn't trust internet virus scans. That sounds suspiciously like those pop ups that offer a free virus scan that's actually a virus.

Here are some free programs you should download. You can easily get the latest version of most off of FileHippo.com
-AVG AntiVirus Free
-Spybot Search & Destroy
Additionally, I suggest grabbing CCleaner and Defraggler and running those two after you do your virus/adware/bot scans.

^ Yeah, you should actually download a program like AVG or Avast and have it run a full check on your computer. You need to actually have something on your PC to protect it.

Yeah, definitely download an anti-virus program ASAP; it's a must when using the internet. I should know, I recently had to re-install my OS after I don't know how many viruses infected my computer because I didn't have any protection :/...it's fortunate the hard drive didn't crash. Hopefully you are able to fix your computer!
