There is a reference image. I have no idea how I should go about making these. My friend suggested getting boots as a base and cutting the heels off them but how would you walk in them?

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Idk where you'd find this, but I've seen shoes that have transparent heels before. Maybe you could use those as a base?

There have been two really long threads about this in the Props section.

You can use this (it's honestly very helpful) http://lyoko-nakadashi.deviantart.com/art/Portal-2-Fall-Boot-Blueprint-205844541

But I made them using some of those, but not using those monster heels and instead using white boots. I'm tall enough, I didn't want to be a complete monster. :)

You should use these shoes to start with. They're dance shoes. I have some. They're comfy but also bend well. The thing that makes them so fitting for this is that they make it super easy to toe stand. I don't know if you know what that means. It's like you're standing on the very tips of your toes. Think Michael Jackson, I guess. Tell me if I'm not being clear

Check out the RPF's thread on the boots here: http://www.therpf.com/f24/portal-2-boots-114589/

They've got some good ideas on how to make the boots, as well as reference pics etc. Hope it helps ~ :)

I just did this cosplay. the boots are in prototype. I'm still working out the mechanics but as far as aesthetics go they are pretty solid.

I know this would be horrendously expensive, but how about this?

This is NEARLY the shape that I'm sure we're all looking for, and it could be modified potentially to fit in the correct place for the brace... That is, if you want the fully functional boot!
