I'm planning on making a Minako uniform cosplay but my planning for it has run into a snag. How would I make the belt that the evoker goes in? I was thinking of using a white belt and attaching something to it but I don't know what would be the best way to do it. I want it to be strong enough to hold my evoker in it too so I have less stuff to carry in hand.

I'm planning on making Minato, and I've been thinking about that too. I think that gluing together sheets of foam might work. I've made headphones with foam, and it seems like a good way to make odd shapes, like holsters. To make it sturdier you should probably start with two layers glued together. You can find foam sheets at most craft stores and they're about a dollar for each square foot.

What I did with my headphones (for Soldier Blue from To Terra: http://i56.tinypic.com/dxz0gz.jpg Ignore the headband part 'cause I'm still working on that. XD) was cut out the front and back the size and shape I wanted, and then made the edge piece bigger than I wanted. I hot-glued the front and back onto the side pieces at a 90-degree angle (on the inside so you can't see the hot glue), leaving a lot of foam overlapping. Then once the glue dried, I cut off the overlap and it left a pretty clean edge. The hot glue was good with the foam because it melted to the foam and helped make the glued parts really solid.
