View Full Version : The best Ciel outfit for this criteria

I was hoping to make a Ciel costume based off an outfit that is:
1. Rarely done
2. Easily recognizable
3. Cheap to make
4. Not too elaborate (I'm not extremely experienced at sewing)

So what I broke it down to was:

1. This red outfit.

I can easily buy the shirt and shorts, and the boot covers will be easy to make because the shoes are very simple. It probably won't be that hard to make the jacket either, because I've made others like it. Sadly, I don't know if it would be easily recognizable or not.

2. This random cover page outfit

It'll be super cheap and easy to make, and I haven't seen it before, but I'm almost certain people will have to squint to recognize me, because I don't have a cosplay partner for Sebastian or another Kuro character.

3. The paperboy outfit

Seems pretty easy and recognizable, but I'm worried about making/finding boots like that. Also, can probably buy and modify all pieces from clothing I find at the thrift store.

Overall, the thing that makes Ciel stand out as Ciel is the hair and eye patch. Oh, and his rings. Those help a lot. All of those you linked would be pretty simple, inexpensive costumes to make, even if you aren't experienced at sewing. So I would say pick whichever you like most and then make sure to work harder on the small details like the wig, eye patch, and getting his rings that will help identify him. Also, an air of arrogance and aloofness helps when cosplaying Ciel.

I think any one of them would be recognizable. My Ciel costume is from one of the manga cover pages and plenty of people have recognized it. (Actually, it's kind of similar the red outfit.)Like the previous reply said, the hair and the patch are the big things.

I think the newsboy one would be the cheapest to assemble, but I like the middle one best, personally.
