I was searching through the Disney forum and was dismayed to discover that there wasn't a thread for Pocahontas cosplay help. This may be because it's probably the EASIEST cosplay to make, but I've never handmade a cosplay before and am not too proud to ask for help.

I know the material I wanna use is stretch suede, but I need help finding an inexpensive pattern to use. I keep finding patterns for Native American costumes when I want to be Disney's Pocahontas especially, and the only patterns I find for that are in children's sizes!

The pattern doesn't have to match exactly, just as close as possible. I could always adjust it accordingly. If anyone can help me out I'd really appreciate it!

I found this Mccall's pattern (http://mccallpattern.mccall.com/m6355-products-14410.php?page_id=108), which is a good template and includes bust darts. Just change the bottom hemline to a "vee", remove the right sleeve, and edit the front and back neckline. You may have to add a zipper/velcro (http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=sewing+zippers&aq=0&oq=sewing+z) in the center back or side. Remember to include extra fabric for seam allowances. The two pattern pieces may end up being identical if you want to same neck line for both front and back. Otherwise the front pattern can differ slightly from the back.

Instead of cutting out whichever pattern you find, I would trace over it with tracing/pattern paper. This way you can reuse the same packaged pattern for something else. Also, if you're nervous, make a mock up with extra or cheap fabric. If it doesn't fit correctly you can edit it before making the real thing. I am not very advanced at sewing but hopefully this info helps!
