View Full Version : Faceless Mask

I want to make Maki's faceless mask, but am not sure how to make it look good and work, or if that's even possible.

Here's a Youtube video where you can see a cutscene of it at 1:40. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lqxJBvw7tuI&feature=related)

Here's a spritesheet with a portrait of Maki wearing the mask. (http://i560.photobucket.com/albums/ss42/The_Deathbringer/tSR/Megami%20Tensei/Megami%20Ibunroku%20Persona/persona1__another_world_npcs.png)

Thanks ahead of time.

You might be able to do something with a stiffened gauze? I'd say get a mesh and paint it, but I'm not sure how it would look. You'd still be able to see and breathe through it, though. Maybe take fabric, put it into a "mold" of sorts (like a bowl or something), paint it with diluted glue, and let dry. Then poke some holes into it with a pin so that you can see and breathe. And talk. For attaching it, it looks like it's clipped onto her face (which you probably don't want to do), but double-sided sticky tape might work, as might spirit gum. A combination of things just to make sure is probably your best bet.
I hope that helped!

Edit: I just noticed it actually looks more like it's riveted on...which you definitely don't want to do! But attaching rivets to things is not too complicated...
