hi, i really need help trying to make this shoe from the series. i was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to help me? i want it to look very similiar to the ones he's wearing in the anime but not too cheesy or like those low-budget type, u know wut i mean? down below are screencaps to help some of u guys get an idea of wut im talking about. big thanks to anyone who could help.

here is Iruka and a pic of wut its suppose to look like...its suppose to have a "opening" in the front (toes) and in the back (back heels)

hmm well i made boot covers for my iruka costume.
The best thing is to use very stretchy material!! I got lucky and found the perfect material, it has a four way stretch and very warm!

There are a few threads that go over boot covers if you search them.
I made a pattern for mine it kinda looks like this

Okay never mind, when i posted it it the formatting messed it up i'll go take a pic of my pattern and post it. T_T

Okay its very crude ^_^```
but I hemmed the top about a 2 inches to get that band, then sewed sections a and b together, turned it inside out, then attached elastic at the bottom near ankle and near toes to slip over sandle. You can cut out the heel part to make it look exactly like Iruka. I also sewed in a 2 inched casing and put black foamie or some batting in the ankle and toe to make it stand out like it does in the picture.
I have a pic of it somewhere on my computer i'll find it post it later if you want to see it.
Hope it helps

i think anyone who is/has cosplayed naruto characters has been in this situation(i know i have).

i suggest a cheap pair of socks + a cheap pair of sandals + scissors and glue.

Check out my gallery, I'm going Iruka as well. I took some cheap sandals and did a pleather cover in navy blue.

Check out Daala's gallery for the shoes. I also have a pic in my gallery of me in my in progress Hinata costume with the shoes on.
We just took those beach sandals with all the straps and we made pattern for the shoes. If you get these kind of sandals adjust them so that they are easy to slip on and off. Measure the top part of the shoe the two sides and the back. It was about 6 pieces total and then you have to stitch them together inside out(like upholsetry) I suggest that you use pleather cause it is sturdy enough. After sewing the shoe cover we stapled it to the sole of the shoe and are going to put trim around the edges of the shoe to cover the staples. In the back we put a zipper to make sure that we could get into the shoe.
This may sound a bit complictated but it wasn't too bad! I suggest that you make a template of everything cause that really helped out a lot.

blue pleather, you kind find it in the upholstery section of the fabric store(like Joanne's, its about 7 dollars a yard. You only need about a yard, but if you can find remnants its about 3.50)

I used blue fleece for my Naruto sandals. You can check them out in my gallery.

I also put some unnecessary holes to let my feet breathe. I am in florida, after all. Fleece and florida don't mix.
