I've heard there is a hibachi grill across the street from the con center. I've tried doing some searches online to find this restaurant, with no luck. Does anyone happen to know the name of the place or exactly where it is? The reason I need to know is that I'm a vegetarian, and I want to check ahead to make sure they have food I can eat before I go there. Also, I want to find out if I need to make reservations before I go.

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give me!

It's simply called the Japanese Steak House. It's located on 479 N. High Street (directly across the street, within walking distance) and the number, according to my phonebook, is 614-228-3030

A few months ago when some friends and I were checking out the hotel downtown, we discovered the steak house was there and had lunch there. It's kind of a small place, although we didn't see much of it. It's kinda hard to notice and on a corner. I'm not sure if they have a vegetarian menu or not, but I think I remember seeing vegetable tempura on the menu (which is very good, although I haven't had there's...). There's probably some soup and stuff you can get there too.

You don't usually need reservations, cuz we just walked in. It was lunchtime, though, and we did have to wait about 10 minutes, but it was ok. The servings are pretty small at lunch, I'm not sure about dinner. And they also have a strange time schedule. I'm sure you could all this info and more by calling them.

Hope this could be of help! :bigtu:

Thank you so much! That helps tremendously! I'll check up on them and see what options they would have for me.

Thanks again! I really really appreciate it!

Isis: Staying on the subject of food, do you know how the food-court of the hotel is? (Or is that a part of the convention center?) I saw the food-court info on the hotel's web-site, and just wondering how big it is, and if the food is priced decently? (I can imagine it'll get crowded during the weekend for Ohayocon..) Thanks for any info you can provide.

I haven't really been to the convention center for a few years, so I can't be much help there, sorry. V_V

But, from what I've heard, there are a few nice restaurants and bars, and then a few fast food places (McDonalds and such). But I'm not totally sure about that.... :lost:

The food court is in the convention center, but it's easy to get to. There's a few fast food places, including a Subway. Sometimes, there's some shops open (a good one is the Krema Nut Company) but that's probably only on weekdays. But, of course, you go to cons to buy anime stuff and not peanuts :)
