I am planning to cosplay Lucia from Devil May Cry 2, along with my friend (chiicheck) who will be cosplaying Dante/Trish. I wanted to know If anyone had any tips on Lucia's costume, especially on her cloak and swords. Any help or links to help, tips, advice, etc. would be GREATLY appreciated!!!^^

Getting those blades would be tricky....try checking on the internet for companies that make movie-swords (like LotR etc), these companies often make strange/fantasy-style weapons too.....there was a company back in England but I don`t remember the name...sorry!

AH!! COOL!! Thanks so much Supremeronin!! I didn't think of that!! Actually, I was thinking og making wooden ones...but buying may be ALOT better...I'll hunt around for stuff! Thank you!! Oh yea, I know of a company in England that makes fantasy-ish stuff...I dunno if it's the one that you're referring to though. If you wanna check it out...here is the link:

has some more weird daggers and swords

I hope there`s something useful! :)

just as a little quicktip for the dante cosplayers: to make your giant sword agically float on your back, go to the hardware store and find a heavy duty magnet that has a 50 lb pull. should be about 2" in diameter. you can sew this magnet on the inside of your coat by making a little sealed pocket for it. if your big sword is light, take 2 industrial (rectangular-shaped) magnets and superglue/liquid nails them to a part of the blade closest to the hilt. you might want to make a small inset on the blade for the magnets for them to be more durable. when it's all dry, you have a nice (invisible) sheath for your sword, and you can easily whip it out and and slay demons with it ^_^

the hard part is blindly searching for where to put the sword back so it won't fall off.

Lucia's blades look very much like Arwen's "Hadhafang" sword, from LOTR.

Supremeronin: those links ROCK! THANK YOU!!!
Daguru: I'll have to tell that to my friend who is cosplaying Dante..thats such an AWESOME idea..i would have never thought of that! THANKS!
Luc: Yea, I noticed that...they are pretty much the same thing...even the design on the handle...and I have been wanting to do Arwen so that WOULD indeed be the perfect sword for both Lucia and Arwen. Although, its QUITE expensive...so I'll have to save up for that...but thank you for pointing that out!!!^^

Oh! We now have a trish in our cosplay group...so I was wondering if anyone had any tips on making Trish's top..or like..how to keep it on! lol

Thanks again for all of your help you guys!!!!^.~

Daguru : great minds think alike!
I keep my lightsaber seemlessly attached to my belt with a damned-strong magnet...it aids the quickdraw :)

Chocho I hope you can get the costume made...I can`t wait to see some pics! :bigtu:
