Anyways, I got my idea from the manga #6, and I just kinda took my own twist anc came up with "Lilac Lolita" Chii! Check out my piccies on here at: http://forums.cosplay.com/showthread.php?p=615073#post615073

Right now I'm only in the process of planning my Chii costume. ^.^ I have someone willing to be Dark Chii (erm...Freya, as I prefer to call her) so I am looking around for good ideas from the manga and art book, mostly. Anyone know a good site to find these kinds of images?

Anyone know where I can find a Sumomo hat or how to make one? :)

I have no idea how to make a sumono hat, but genigang (http://www.genkigang.com/genkigang.html) makes custom made hats and limebarb (http://limebarb.com) makes comisions, so I think any of them would make it for your ^_^

I'm currently making my own Chii costume. It's mostly of my own design, but it's also a bit of a combination of the violet and the blue dress. I'm just making it up as I go along, so I hope it turns out well

Countess- thats what I did too! I think its best to mix and match patterns then go from there, but then again, I'm just not a fan of making a costume on the fly... I always end up with a flapper-esque bag as a dress. hehe

And thanks, Chobits cosplayers rock!

Also, my boyfriend cosplays as Hideki (see avitar)

WOW, there are so many good reference images here!!!

Woohoo! I just fell in love with this dress:

I think I may make that for the next con!

My friend and I are doing Chii (dark and light) for AR... We're not using any particular dress to copy because we're not expert sewers, but just taking ideas from the different outfits. Since neither of us is good at sewing we are buying the shirts-- found perfect corset shirts with flowy sleeves-- and are just going to make skirts.

I'm hoping the skirts will look ok! What we're planning to do is take tulle and lace and have layers of tulle, each one longer, and then sew 3" or so lace at the bottom of each layer. Kinda like this THIS SKIRT (http://image.inkfrog.com/pix/oohlala/09_20_11001.jpg) except that each layer will be separate, not connected, (and not so long) and the colors will be pink tulle with white lace for Elda and red tulle with black lace for Freya.

Then for accessories we're making bracelets, chokers, and going to wear either thigh highs or tights and ballet shoes... maybe lacey socks too. Probably lace gloves as well, if we can find any.

Love all of Freya's and Chii's clothes, probably going to do one of Chii if a friend of mine will be Freya, that or I'm going to be Freya, and she's going to be Dita, she loves the Crossplay ^_^'.
Yeah, the hardest part for many of their dresses are either the hoop skirts, or all the lace, some of which would have to be custom made by the person making it, though there have been a fwe that I've not seen done, and since they're not some of the more widely known (or so it would seem) outfits, these stuck out to me, if I am going to actually wear any of the Chobits dresses I make to a con, it'd be one of these three for sure.
This last one was my favorite though ^_^
Hopefully lycos isn't a pain in the rear like some sites that won't let you see it unless you get it from the site.

I just got two issues of the manga, and I think I'm gonna make EVERY SINGLE COSTUME. That is my mission. To re-create EVERY chobits costume
Yipee for me. :)

I would looove to make Chi's bakery uniform *_* http://www.animewallpapers.com/wallpapers/chobits/full_17_1024.asp

I actually don't know much at all about chobits, only having read the first manga, but my friend insisted that we do Chii and Freya costumes. She did the black and red one while I did the counterpart white and blue. We made the mistake, due to lack of time and severe lack of money, to buy really cheap wigs. X_X The were so horrid to deal with. Before we wear them to a con again, we're getting new wigs. (anyone want a long and cheap wig?) Duo cosplay is fun. ^_^
