The basic choices facing BAAF 2004 are:

a) Move to a later time in the year, and hold the traditional event in Times Square, but limit attendance to prevent overcrowding of the hotel. We would probably cut back to a capacity of about 10,000 attendees, to reduce overcrowding.

b) Hold BAAF during Labor Day Weekend, but not in Times Square, and not on the traditional scale (for example, just hold a film festival at a movie theater in Manhattan, with no dealer rooms or fan panels).

c) Skip 2004, and plan for 2005 instead.

d) Do something else.

Honestly I think choice "a" is the best. Over crowding let down alot of people last year, most people I know who went last year may not return because of that fact. 10,000 is a good number, Just take into consideration that if its in the Marriot again this year, that the esculators are going to be the primary way Up and Down on to floors, and I don't think most of us want to walk up 7 phlights of stairs with 1/2 an inch of room to move.

Yeah, I really like BAAF so I think it'd be cool if it were held around halloween perhaps, like the first year.

Didn't we have a poll like this?

Um A, but what do the other people outside have to do, wait in the street?! In the cold?! I don't like being /rushed while posing for pictures, shopping ect. Also if you left the con for a moment to eat, per say, can you go back in?

I'm not to thrilled about A, BUT it is one of the best answers next to C reality-wise. C is a good choise too, this year of planning is a mess, so lets just plan better of next year ^^!

D is ok too, like a mini BAAF with NYO, or what not, and there are other conventions, but smaller, other genres, ect.

I'm gonna go with a. Last year the escalators kept either braking down or they blocked off the floor because it was crowded[like the floor to buy merchandise]. It was really ridiculous, but if they held it on another weekend and limited the amount of people i would definitly go again

Oh well folks. BAAF is officially cancelled..............
Just thought you'd like to be aware of that. Time to plan for BAAF '05'.
