Hello folks, I am new to this whole cosplay fantasy. I am new here so pleasee go easy on mee lol, jk. Anyways folks, for this upcoming Halloween, I am planning to dress up as Samara Morgan from the Ring. I got the Wig and the white makeup, I need help on the dress. I can't seem to find it anywhere, I looked in thrift stores, ebay and found nothing. Also, I am a guy, do you think this would be a great costume for me. I am 6 foot 2.

Have you thought about getting someone to make it for you? It's a relatively easy outfit, if I recall correctly.

Here's a picture of her outfit done by Fan+Friend:

(It doesn't seem like it'd be that hard to make, honestly.)

As for it being a great costume for you, that's up to you. Personally, I think it's a good idea.

Just make sure that when you make or buy the dress you take the time to make it look stained and old, and perhaps a little ripped around the edges

^ This, too. I've heard of people using dirt, coffee, tea, stuff like that to make the stained areas

I'd suggest just doing that. I made a Samara costume in 2 hours one time for halloween out of an ugly thrift store dress. No one could tell, and it was already worn and discoloured! haha

Thank for the advicee, I am thinking about doing that, but I want to stay away from sewing as best as possible. Do you think an oversized t shirt will work?

I don't know if they're still available because maybe it's out of fashion now, I've never been up to date with or understood hip hop fashion. However, back when I was in high school, I remember some "gangsta" type guys wore these huge, long tshirts from Foot Locker or something like that. That would work really well if you can still find those kinds of things nowadays.
