Hi, I'm new here, but I'd like to post my progress on Liara T'soni costume!
My girlfriend will cosplay Liara from ME3.
I've recently sculpted the headpiece in oil based clay, Then I made the mold in plaster and cast the latex headpiece...
I would like to post some photos of the progress, hoping this can help you if you're planning to cosplay an asari. I followed the great tutorial by Evan Campell on mask making process, you can found it here: http://evancampbell.deviantart.com/art/Mask-Making-Tutorial-Part-1-128952591
And here is my plastiline sculpt. I used chavant NSP for this one.

Your sculpt looks great! I hope you'll post pictures of your finished product and WIPs. I'll be making my own prosthetic for Aria next year and it's always super helpful to see how other people do things!

This looks great! I commissioned my headpiece so I can't put any critiques to your headpiece. Honestly it's quite a beautiful headpiece! ^_^

Hi all :)
Thank you paigey and nikineko, I'm trying to do it at my best!
It's been a lot since I've started this thread.. It's time to update!

Here is a photo of the mold done. I was waiting for it to dry completely, before opening it.. I was really scared! It went out fine, even if i had some trouble in pulling out the longest tentacles, they were stuck in the mold!
Before casting the latex in, I've sealed the two parts with hot glue.
Obviously, if you have question on the process, I will be glad to answer them, sharing my experience.

Here is a preview of how the latex came out: I'm now painting it, I can't wait to finish it. Soon I will post some photos of the painting process!

Sorry for the crappy-quality photo :)
and for my messy floor. I was working on my femshep armor :D
I'm really happy because, as you can see, these headpiece fit well on different head size. I really hope it will fit my girlfriend too, since she is very looong haired.

Aaaand these are the contact lenses I ordered for Liara's eyes! I had to wear them once, even if they're not for me :( They look wonderful, exactly same deep blue of the shadow broker DLC. They are named pixie blue, i think. I can check if anyone is interested.

I still have work to do on this, but I think it'll came out pretty cool!

The latex cast:

First layer: PAX paint (50% pros-aide adhesive + 50% acrylics) That will make sure that the successive layers of paint will stick and not crack.

First layers with a cheap airbrush:
