I'm developing a female supernatural exterminator. I have my shirt, skirt, a pith hat and belt. I plan to make a gun soon. What little things can I craft to send the message of a supernatrual exterminator more? Things to hang off the belt. (I already hae two fox tails, maybe werewolf tails>)

My wife and I did a similar theme a few years ago. In short, we were Steampunk Ghostbusters, though none of our equipment or uniforms were really modeled off the original Ghostbusters.

Some sort of detector or meter would be appropriate. I made one out of the plastic frame of an old receipt printer, some analog car gauges, and some green toy test tubes. It fit over the hand kind of like a gauntlet. I'll see if I have photos of it somewhere at home... we didn't carry it around too much because it was a bit bulky and heavy.

A name badge on your shirt, and some calling cards.

A bandolier with your hunting apparatus, chemicals, etc. Some toy test tubes with some harmless liquids inside (e.g. corn syrup and food coloring), with aged-looking labels.

Thanks! That is a great idea! I take it a a few wooden stakes would be in order. This gives me a lot of ideas and a bigger reason to visit my local American Science and Surplus. Thanks alot! And your cosplay sounds awesome!

This is the gun after a couple more modifications, I didn't get any close-ups of it after that though.

I think this might help you along with the gauges. A nice tutorial on how to make prop gauges http://www.epbot.com/2011/06/diy-steampunk-gauges.html

Also good luck with the build. I love the idea.

Oh yeah one last thing nathancarter absolutely love those pics! Looks fantastic.

nathan: Those pieces all look fantastic separately, but the overall looks are even better. Such awesome work.
