I've seen plenty of Li-kuns, tons of Sakuras of all varieties, and several Kero-chans. But it struck me that I haven't seen a Yue. I wonder why. You'd think he'd be a popular cosplay target. And heck I know you guys out there can do wings....

I've seen a couple. I think it's a combination of Yue not being a main character (it's been awhile since I've seen the show... doesn't he either not show up all that frequently or doesn't show up until midway through the series?) and having a somewhat challenging costume. The clothing itself takes a bit of skill to make (not obscenely so, but it's not exactly of "first costume" status) and wings are both difficult to make (or very costly to commission) and don't travel well. If you fly to conventions, large, delicate wings are almost impossible to bring along. This is why I ended up deciding not to do one my favorite Sakura costumes (I wanted to wear it to AX, as well, but the wings just wouldn't make it.)

But, you're right, he should be cosplayed more. CCS cosplay has already reached its apex and descended, so unfortunately we probably won't see too many more new Yues in the future.

As Kiwi said, part of the problem is the wing transportation for not seeing more Yue.

Here are some of my favs of him

Those are all amazing -- but I'm totally in awe of the wings on that first one. I wouldn't know how to attach those to my back, let alone make them! Most impressive.

Don't forget the Eriols and Ruby Moons. heh

Yue's wings definitely present a challenge in construction and transportation.
(Imagine how the people transport mecha armor)

Can any recommend a good place online to get a Clow wand or a Sakura wand? I'm looking for one that's closer to "actual size" (so at least 18"?) and not over $30, preferably.

thanks in advance for any info,
Lydia

i have seen a couple, and one was featured in a pamphlet i got at portcon 2 years ago, but its one seroiusly hard costume that takes a lot of deternination.

still, we should all keep trying to bring it back!
