Recently, I bought one of those Arda Wigs in "Jasmine" so I could cosplay as Winry. However, as I was cutting the bangs on my head (or at least attempting to), I noticed there are a lot of weird little wavy chunks in the hair that just make the cut look really bad:

There's also an issue with the pieces of hair right next to the bangs. They're supposed to cover the hairline, but they refuse to cooperate with me:

I've heard that in order to straighten wigs, you need to pour water that's almost boiling onto the wig several times. But, it's already been styled into a ponytail in the back (which is kind of messed up right now but i'll tighten it later), and I don't want to damage that style by pouring water on it. Are there any other ways to straighten out the bangs?

I've also heard that putting the blow-dryer on uncooperative pieces of hair on a low setting can help make those pieces behave, and I might try this with the pieces outside the bangs. But in case that doesn't work, is there anything else I can try?

Thanks in advance!

Arda's wigs are heat resistant; a straightening iron on a low-to-medium temp will work just fine. (if you have one of those straightening irons that begins and ends at "hotter than the fires of hell itself" then I'd avoid it, but my fairly standard Hello Kitty straightener hasn't ever hurt any of my Arda wigs.
