I have a question for everyone here, me and some of my friends decided for our next con we might try a group of Modern Assassins. The problem being is that we're all having different versions of it in mind. Now we took into account somewhat how Desmond dressed in his first time out as an Assassin but we realized that most assassins in the modern age would probably wear some form of body protection or carry sidearms.

I suggested a tactical look to them but with some mobility available. Something like a black tactical vest over the white hoodie wearing dark blue jeans with a holster on the left or right thigh, some knives placed in a holster on the other thigh, black fingerless gloves along with a black half-mask around the mouth along with knee-pads.

My friend suggested something more parkour-ish like the white hoodie with a messenger bag, fingerless gloves, jeans with knee-pads along with a baton as a defense weapon and a holster for a pistol.

We're obviously going to keep the hidden blade apart of all the cosplays (with the recently new Black Flag hidden blades it will look more 'modern' for the cosplay)

The thing is that we're kinda at odds for which to go with but we're most likely just going to combine them for a group effort. Some doing the more tactical and others doing the more parkour-ish one.

Though open to any ideas people may have.

Hmm, I always thought about the modern subject like this: An assassin at his base should be a person that can merge with the crowd. Meaning that every weapon he has should be able to be hidden from sight. They aren't big one man armies. That said I would go for this weapon set up: A baton that can be extended, but while wearing it shouldn't be longer than 15 cm (these things are highly illigal though, so you'd better make one from some plastic pvc pipes). A handgun, hidden in a shoulderholster and the hidden blade.

Next to that since the assassin should be able to merge with diffrent crowds, I highly advice clothing that is comfortable, but is able to mix with higher and lower classes. This means a nice shirt with a tie is probably a good idea, which is able to be coverd by a hoodie and a longer "formal" coat. Black jeans would probably be a good idea too. Classy and formal because of the colour, casual enough because of the fabric.

Coloursheme in general: instead of white I would go for lighter gray. Use some red details and keep the rest darker in general.

It's all up to you though, but I find something like this to be a good choice:

Thanks for the reply even though I'm kinda very late on replying

I just started gathering up the necessary supplies I'll need to work on the costume. I've decided to go with this look:
http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_4kPozBZPX48/TUYSyVHbeVI/AAAAAAAAADk/uvQFQDEhq6w/s1600/DSC_0040.JPG to give a base plate.

I'll post the supplies I've ordered so far:

Hoodie: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00C20CT78/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I ordered the AC2 style hidden blade because I read that in the modern day hidden blades have become more of a ceremonial device. Though I may also order the Black Flag version since it looks more urban.

Bow: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ATYGQNM/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pd_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=1GKEGJISMVZ63&coliid=I28JM8JQSKNN5K (thankfully looks like an exact copy)

Quiver: http://www.amazon.com/Buffalo-Black-Canvas-Quiver-Braces/dp/B00BRXKM6G/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1398148263&sr=8-4&keywords=back+quiver

Gaiters (I assume those are on the legs): http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AMSZE1A/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pd_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=1GKEGJISMVZ63&coliid=I2CC6MJOET0ZT2&psc=1

I haven't ordered the bow, quiver or gaiters just yet. I still also have to get a leg holster for an airsoft pistol, fingerless gloves, LARP bows for the arrow, red bandana and the waist sash.

I could use some help on finding the sash and the gear he wears around his waist...I have no idea what that is? That some kind of climbing equipment or something?

I prefer the black flag hidden blade myself. Anyhow is there an update on this?
