Can the Admin raise the amount of for the avatars from 150 x 150 pixels to 200 x 200 pixels? How can I put the pics that people have under the messages?

It's staying at 150x150. I don't even like it that big.

If you're talking about pics in signatures, you need to insert an image via image code. There should be a help button in there somewhere with exact details.

Just asking why. It's 50 more pixels.

Yeah, but... 50 more pixels multiplied by 17k members...

it would change the entire layout of the posts, widening the panel on the left and shrinking the panel on the right with the actual post in it.

There's a place to put one that's of considerable size in your user profile. Granted, it doesn't show in your posts, but it's better than nothing.

I've seen sites where the avatar is far FAR smaller than what we have here. Matter of fact, 150 x 150 is to me quite generous, considering that LiveJournal only allows 100 x 100, and another board I'm on has even more constrained proportions.

Like Dany said, LiveJournal allows 100 X 100, and many forum boards allow only 60 X 60.

150 X 150 for an avatar is unbelievably generous. My Gods, we can put WHOLE TEXTS in our avatars! (Look at Dany's avatar!)

Be grateful. I know I am.

I actually think 150x150 is bigger than is needed. I couldn't imagine needing 200x200. o_O

yea it's usually 100*100 or under, so 150*150 is really really nice already!!

Wow, the quote from tonight's episode of Angel is strangely appropriate. :)

A true ruler is as moral as a hurricane... empty, but for the force of his gale.

And really, why do you need your avatar 200x200? Just scale anything you'd like down to 150x150, like you said, it's only 50 pixels.

Actually, now that I think about it, it's 17,500 pixels.

(200 x 200) - (150 x 150) = 17,500

Hee. I've been made an example. :D

And I'm very grateful to be able to have so much space to cause mischief. ;)

the bigger it is the longer it will load, *and it would suck for us dial up users* im happy with the 150X150, its alot bigger than what other sites allow.

I suppose once it's 200x200, someone else would ask for 250x250. Then once it's 250x250, someone else would ask for 300x300. Good thing Admin put his foot down on 150x150.

"Give them an inch and before you know it they've got a foot, much more than that and you don't have a leg to stand on."
