View Full Version : Ending up with neon cheeks ;_;

All right. I know how to put on make-up and everything and even be slightly creative but I always manage to get the eyeshadow stuff all over my face when working with powder. With my costume, I'll be working with hot neon pink loose powder eyeshadow. (Trying to get that line thing most anime chicks have--think the hair demon of InuYasha and her red eye stuff) I was wondering if anyone actually found a way to keep my cheeks from getting covered with neon pink. Also, if anyone has any tips on how to get that look, I'd be ever so greatful!

Use a wet paintbrush to apply the powder so it's not all over the place. ^_^ You could also use bodypaints (available from theatrical supply stores) such as Ben Nye or Kryolan. Loose powders are mostly intended for application with a puffy brush...for small areas and accurate application it's best to use something less...well, loose. ^_^;

You can also just cover your face while applying the eye makeup. Wetting it usually changes the colour a lot @_@;;

You can do one of two ways:

1 - apply extra loose powder on your face and cheeks to catch falling e/s flakes, and then just brush it all off with a large powder brush after.

2 - apply your eye makeup first before the rest of your face. Then you can clean up any mistakes without ruining the rest of your makeup.

Using a damp brush to apply the e/s will help minimise fall out, but it will also intensify the colour of the e/s. This method is best when using the loose colour as eyeliner rather than eyeshadow as the line will be more exact.

Apply stick concealer to your eyelids (pretend it's like an eyeshadow) and then apply your powdery neon pink stuff...it'll stick on ^^
