View Full Version : Freya dress (altered)

Ok...I found this dress at my local Goodwill. It had long sleeves and trashy bows and was ridiculous. I plan to put a black lace petticoat underneath. This is just the dress, and I'm cosplaying with my friend NoriRain, who has a similiar Chii dress. I based mine off of hers, so we don't look exactly like any of the manga or anime. But that's why I like Chobits. It allows you to put together just about anything for Chii and Freya. NoriRain is also working on my personocom ears, and I've ordered boots.

Please tell me what you think, and whether or not it will match NoriRain's (http://images.cosplay.com/showphoto.php?photo=141181&password=&sort=1&cat=500&page=1)

I think it will look nice. I like the lace. It adds a delicateness. You will have to add some touches... like red lace, red gloves, maybe some buttons down the front. Also it would help since you have a short skirt to have a pair of kick butt shoes. That's what Nori seems to be missing. It would look more intricate and custom if some criss crossed ribbon were tied up her legs.
Before you buy a petticoat go to a bridal shop nearby and ask to try on some of theirs. Then you can see what size looks best under the dress and then order a cheaper one from ebay.

It would be better if it was modeled.
To match the white dress get some gloves and maybe put buttons down the front of the dress,

Oooh, thanks to both of you...those are great ideas.

Yeah, add lots of ribbions, lace, etc and I'm sure it'll rock! Also, be sure to have the right wig, ears, and hair spools and you'll be perfect!!!

I suggest cool shoes too. ;)

I just bought two yards of red lace...but where should I put it on the dress? Around the sleeves? The neckline? The hem? I need some advice! Help! As for shoes, I bought thigh high boots (which will also work for my Pamila costume for Bondage Fairies) very cheap ($35) and plan to put red ribbon up it to contrast all the black.

But anyway...what about the lace...and where do I find a good Chii wig? The last one I had was trashy as hell!

Suggestions for placement of the red lace....
Arms (top half)
Just under the bust (empire waist)
2 rows at the bottom
Make a garter for the top of one leg

Black lace at the top of your red gloves

Chii Wig, look in the wig listings. I suggested Karen's Wigs on ebay. She has some nice eleora wigs that are smooth and great quality. Lots of them are super long and white and blonde.

Witch wigs also has a Godiva platinum blonde wig that I personally love for my own Chii cosplay purposes, it's in their "witch" section, but it's considerably on the pricey side. It looks great though the texture is slightly stiff.
