View Full Version : ComicCon Private Photoshoots

06-14-2004, 11:16 PM
I'd really like to do some private photoshoots at ComicCon since I know some good photo spots in the area, but I need to gauge the level of response first before I plan on offering them in the store. Is there anyone here who would be interested in one of these for ComicCon?

I would be uber interested. You know me, ultimate photo whore.

06-15-2004, 11:25 AM
Probably me....but to be honest I think a lot of people who are going to Comic Con probably just went to AX too, so money would be an issue. Not saying to lower the price or anything, ( because its VERY reasonable ) but I think that may have something to do with your level of responces.

I second that notion lol. Mesa wanna do a photoshoot w/ the Nessa in our Amanoness.

I also probably would want to do Jack Sparrow lol you know me...

I think I already mentioned something about it to you, because I'd love to get some good pictures of my Masquerade costume. :)

06-15-2004, 03:37 PM
ok, sounds like it'd go over well enough to offer them in the store. I'll have them up in about a week or so.

Sweet i always wanted so nice Fett pics and i want to show off the Van Helsing costume.

You can count me in as one of the interested members, Admin.

I want in since, comic con, we really do nothing ^^

Plus AX is too crowded for it to be really private

06-18-2004, 03:13 PM
Ooh, I would pay for one because I won't be able to aford one for anime expo.

Admin - About the A-G Mixer prize photoshoots, I think AX will be too busy for most of us. Is Comic Con okay? Please PM me when you get the chance. Thanks!

aznaphrodite: Comic-Con is perfect, sending a PM now.

I may be interrested myself. Are you offering photoshoots the entire con time? I may bring my Labrynth Ball costume to get some shots of it..will that be alright?

I haven't decided yet which days I'll be doing them, but most likely it'll be just Friday and Saturday. We're probably skipping Sunday because we have to leave for Otakon on the following Wednesday.

I won't be able to do it then, because I'd be getting my Masquerade costume photographed....

I'll know for sure by this weekend.

06-25-2004, 04:52 AM
I would love to have photos. I think I will get some friends and do group pictures to split the cost. If anyone else wants to do that I love to hear from you.

06-26-2004, 02:44 AM
Update: I'll be sticking around Sunday for a few shoots so masquerade people can order some. I'll also have the shoot times up this weekend.

If anyone is planning on doing a shoot and can do it Friday or Saturday rather than Sunday, please be so kind as to leave the Sunday shoots open for people who have to wait till after the Masquerade to wear the costume they want a photoshoot of.

ok, I woul like to purchase a Friday one! (since all of the AX slots are gone XP) Im lookin forward to it! XD

I was wondering where exactly the Comic Con private photoshoots could be taken at? There's lots of cool places in that area and one in particular that interested me piratical little mind (coughStarOfIndiacough) lol. That might be a bit much tho... I'm just wondering.

06-27-2004, 10:00 AM
Star of India would be cool but that's one hella walk! ;)

Gotta be near the con center, sorry. I'm scheduling them 45 minutes apart (usually it's 30) so we can have time to walk across the street to the park area if we want to.

Comic Con seems like the perfect place for private photo shoots, and Masquerade isn't an issue for me. But now you're making me feel like a wuss for not going to Otakon. There goes my "it's only one week after Comic Con" excuse. Now I have to pull out the "my job would hate me" reason. ;p

Suggestion: Outside the Marriott (next to the convention center) is a big waterfall, and I remember taking some nice photos outside of it during SDCC2002. The area is really colorful, and looks like a jungle-type setting which is perfect for pics. :)

06-29-2004, 02:54 PM
count me in as well I wanna get some good shots of my Lupin in

06-29-2004, 06:09 PM
I probably won't be able to make it, because of AX and money issues, but I think that Seaport Villiage would make for some really cute photo-ops, especially from anime that involve the ocean! People in the background might be a problem, though. :(

Hm, must ask friend about it...I'll see, perhaps not this year...

After a long delay, the private photoshoots will be going up for sale Thursday night.

07-08-2004, 12:32 PM
Yaaaaaay! *bounces!*

07-08-2004, 09:47 PM
Awesome. I want a Saturday one I think.

07-09-2004, 04:58 AM
well, I guess I lied. They'll go up Friday evening now. Sorry for the delay, had some crap come up here today.

07-09-2004, 12:19 PM
...it was just a little white fib tied in pink ribbons!

07-09-2004, 08:25 PM
Just a reminder- when these go up tonight, if you can avoid it, please only order a Sunday shoot IF you have to wait till Sunday to wear the costume on account of the masquerade rules. I'm only putting a few up for Sunday so let's try to leave those open for those who have no choice but to wait till Sunday.

If you aren't getting a shoot of your masquerade costume there will be openings on Thursday, Friday and Saturday to choose from.

Comic-Con photoshoots are now available.

07-19-2004, 03:22 PM
I will be sending out info on the photoshoots (meeting place, etc.) later tonight.

07-22-2004, 11:46 PM
OS how does this photoshoot thing work? I'm somewhat new to this whole board and stuff. How do we know when you're booked?

07-28-2004, 12:12 AM
UPDATE: I have one finished, and I'm plugging away at the others while I get Otakon stuff ready. Since we leave Thursday morning, you can be sure they'll all be up by Wednesday night. :)

07-28-2004, 11:24 PM
They're now up, I'll make the front page buttons tonight after I get some packing done for Otakon.

First 6 shoots are SDCC:
