Anyone elses parents play video games? >D

At this very moment, my dad is playing... Crazy Taxi. And cackling like a MADMAN. LMAO it is the most HILARIOUS thing ever.. he just drives and doesn't pick anyone else and he and my mom are laughing their heads off! We brought the PS2 home for Thanksgiving and they're veeery intrigued by it.. LOL and I showed my mom first and she started playing.. then she showed my DAD and now they're taking turns. It's hands down, one of the most hilarious things I've seen in a long time.. they're so bad.. ^^;;;;;

My mom used to love to play Mario and Bubble Bobble on the original NES. :D

Of course. I inherited my dad's NES! XD

My mom can't play, but I remember when I was little my Dad and I would play Super Mario Bros. to see who would win. ^^

My mother can't play much past Pac-Man or a gambling game. My step-father plays all the Resident Evil, Medal of Honor and fighting games.

My dad plays Quake with me ever since I got the house wired together XD!!

My mom plays stuff like Crash Bandicoot....all the Crash games, Jax and Daxter, Sly Cooper...she has a PS2 herself.

My parents used to play video games. they liked to play Mario, Sonic, Bemini Run (a cool game for Genesis), and they loved to play anything GOLF! they last games my ever played was Hot Shots Golf and Twisted Metal (which suprised evan me!).

My mom plays old arcade games from her time (like Pacman) but not much else. She thinks I'm wasting my life away with video games. But hey, thats a great life for me!

My mom plays Tetris and Zelda. And Mario Bros.! She's a huge fan of the old Gameboy Games.

my parents don't play video game (well except for my dad playing grand theft auto). But they know a lot about them. Living with my all the time, they have picked up alot of info. They know names and plots. It was weird when i was drawing a pic of Link the other day, and my mom knew who he was.

My dad doesn't play it, but my mom plays the Crash Bandicoot games and she's tried Silent Hill (1 and 2) and Fatal Frame, but she's not too good at those games..

I bring the PS2 up to my parents house during Xmas, or if I'm just visiting for whatever reason. Dad's favorite game of all time is SSX. he played it for hours on end.. Of course keep in mind that he only plays it when I'm around, he won't get his own system or anything.. Of course that might change, because when he was down here last I got the Gran Turismo 3 setup with that Logitech steering wheel thing.. And he blew the rest of the day playing that game, he didn't even eat his lunch.

Mom was hinting at a PS2 in his socking though :)

My mom = was a Tetris FREAK. She actually wore out two of my gameboys playing Tertris. She always plays a crap load of those puzzle computer games like Mahjong and such.

My dad = plays Nascar games on the PS and played Super Mario Brother games and ExciteBike with me.

My step-dad = plays Donkey Kong country games to the point where none of my SNES controllers work and he wore out all my DK games. He plays some Mario Kart too.

My dad can't even touch a peice of electronics without breaking it, so we keep him away from the game consoules. ^_^'

My mom, however, loves the video games I bring home. When I was little, she used to wait until I'd gone to bed and then sneak my NES out to play Mario Bros. ^_^ It was so cute...she seemed to think that Mario would jump farther if she moved the controller with the jump.

My mom loves Pac-man. However, I did convince her to try House of the Dead, Typing of the Dead, and DDR. She really enjoyed them, but she complained about weak ankles after just a few tries with DDR. I think she was just sad because my sister and I are pretty good at the game. XD

My dad... had a Jaguar. When I sold it, he lost interest in games. Sometimes I can drag out an old Atari and get him to play a game or two, but nothing serious.

My mom doesn't really play video games... But my dad is the reason I play games myself. ^_^ I'd always play Super Mario Bros with him on our NES when I was like four.. then Super Mario Bros 2 and Super Mario Bros 3.. and other games. :D
My brother plays Pokemon like crazy, and started making my dad play.. and now he's played them all. Red, Blue, Yellow, Silver, Gold.. My brother has Crystal right now x.x.. Right now my dad's playing one of them.. I forget which, and trying to get a good Pokedex rating. oy vey. I keep telling him to play a better RPG. ^_^;

Anyone wanna recommend a good RPG that's not too far off from Pokemon standards? XD

Hehehehe, I got my mom to play me in DDR...now that was hilarious...

Lol, that reminds me; me and my friends when to the arcade (which we go to practically every weekend day...) and there were a couple of moms trying to play it..it was so sad! One of them was not too bad for a beginner, though. Oh yeah, and my mom loves tetris (for NES, though), too.

I got my mom to play DDR once... let's just say she made us fail
-_- LoL, well, my parents like watching me play (which seems kinda strange sometimes) but they don't like playing video games....

12-02-2002, 06:41 PM
I could NEVER get either of my parents to attempt DDR...

My mom used to play Tetris all the time ^_^ But since there was a system crash (Tetris for computers, she didn't play it on GB), we lost everything and didn't load it again, so she doesn't play anymore @_@ She occasionally plays that Animaniacs CD-Rom she bought for my sister, who doesn't even use it. My mom doesn't like it when we watch her play; she said we break her concentration. T_T

I got her to try DDR once too! But I don't think she liked it...My dad doesn't play at all...and he assumes everything on a monitor is a game, and says it like it's a bad thing @_@ He recognizes the Mario theme, though, because my brother was the original gamer in our household :p

My mother is obsessed with this obscure game called "World I". She would sometimes stay up late at night just to play the game. I was amused, really. I am not much of a game fan, mainly because I do not have the patience most of the time. The only games that I own are Formula 2001 and GT3 in PS2. My old Sega is now officially my mum's.

lol my mom is soo funny when it comes to video games.
she doesnt play them so much as watch me play and scream and get all excited. you'd have to see to understand.

you should see her when i play Vice City or Fatal Frame

My dad plays PC Doom religiously. Heck, when I was a little girl, I used to skip out on my bedtime just so I could watch him play the various Dooms for hours on end! He got Tomb Raider and Duke Nukem : Time to Kill for Christmas one year, but well, I kidnapped those ^_^*

My mom is totally anti-video games, but one time I did manage to attempt to teach her to play Spyro the Dragon. She sucked, a lot. But she does like to hang around when I play Squaresoft games because she loves the music. Like in Kingdom Hearts, I'll wander around the districts in Traverse Town just so she can listen to the music.
