I know that many con's tally your previous awards difrently. but over all how do you determin your ranking?

Clearly if you take best of anything, or the only place in a catogory, it counts but what about everything else?

Do you count 2 or 3rd place awards?

Do you count hornable mentions?

Do you count judges choice?

If your doing a craftmanship only entry do you count preformance awards? also what about the reverse?

It depends on the con. The notes below are a generalisation I have found true at most cons I have competed/judged at.

An award that will count should be a "Best of" variety, say "Best Novice Craftsmanship", "Best Presentation", "Best of Show". Secondary awards such as Honorable Mentions do not count.

Judges' Awards, Staff Awards, and Hall Awards do not count.

A few cons will separate craftsmanship from presentation for divisions (you could be advanced craftsmanship, novice presentation) but most will lump both together and hence you count all awards.

This changes from con to con, so always check the rules.

It does vary con to con. At our convention we basically count everything award wise, just because we were so novice heavy trying to split out ranks as best could. Just check the rules.
