"Shoujo Arts Society" ... Do you know about Shoujocon, but little about the organization behind the convention? If you live in New York City, you'll have an opportunity to get to know us--by joining us for our SAS Open House/Shoujocon Party!

Meet some of the staff with Shoujo Arts Society and Shoujocon, and get to learn more about how we run the first and largest convention for girls' and women's manga and anime in North America. And, learn how to volunteer for Shoujocon 2003 ^-^. Best of all, you'll get to meet other fans of shoujo manga and anime in the NYC area--and learn more about your favorite hobby!

SAS will bring the food (good), the anime (better) and host raffles to win prizes, including free con admission for Shoujocon 2003 (best!). You bring your curiosity and a friend.

The SAS Open House/Shoujocon Party happens

199 Chambers Street, Room S140

Via Subway:
Take the 1, 2, 3, 9 trains to Chambers Street. Walk west on Chambers until you reach Greenwich Street, or West Street.

Via Bus:
Take the M20 to Chambers and West Streets.

Via Car:
The Holland Tunnel provides the closest route via New Jersey; turn left onto West Street and continue until you reach Chambers. The Brooklyn Battery Tunnel or Brooklyn Bridge provides the closest route via Staten Island and Brooklyn; turn right on West Street and drive up until Chambers. From Queens and the Bronx: take the West Side Highway to reach BMCC; the highway turns into West Street. BMCC will be on your left.

See you there!

If I could, I would, but I think the travel time for me would be too much. And I don't think my mom would want to drive in the car with me for a long time XD

Just in case anyone else wanted driving directions, here's the full address with city/zip code:

199 Chambers Street New York, NY 10007

Hope I can go, but I doubt it, its a tough drive ToT

I was going to go... was awake Sunday morning.. but a 48 hour day along with an Otakon meeting the day before decided to render my body useless.

(in other words laying down on my bed for a quick nap before leaving turned into sleeping right through the thing..)

How'd it go?

Otakon staff meets every other month throughout the year, because planning takes place almost all year for the event. Board of Directors members like myself have meetings to go to pretty much *EVERY* month. ^_^;;;;

woah. That's a LOT of meetings. ^^;;;

Well staffers aren't required to attend the meetings to staff.. but since I've got a fair number of responsibilities and I'm a Board member (no pun intended) - I go to most of them. Busy busy. ;)

I need to draft more NY area staffers, for easier carpooling.. *hehe*

Enough of that, Ranma, post those pictures! :)
