View Full Version : Umm.... Help? ^^;;
Okay... I fully plan on going to AX this year now...
Thing is... this is my first time flying, let alone going farther west than Pittsburgh, PA.... o.o;;
I can take care of the plane and all, but...
Okay, I'm kinda asking for a group to sorta chaperone me... Like, let me stay with them in their hotel room, pick me up from the airport... yeah, this is probably asking alot, but I'm really uneasy about this X.x;;
I dunno.... blargh.

Where are you landing? (airport wise) Speaking of which, where is AX going to be this year? Irvine? SD?

I'm not buying plane tickets until March...but if time/funds permit, I might do it sooner. I do plan to get a rental car(unlike at Nekocon...I should've!), so if you want, I'll help where I can.

Aw... Oshi!! ^_^ I hope you find someone. I never know what my plans are until just before a con so I really can't help. But AX is the best convention I go to, because unlike grumpy east coasters and the hell known as Baltimore, the California weather is nice and people are happy. You'll be fine.

I'm planning on going to AX too and this will be my first time on the west coast so I'm going to ask friends that live in the area first for a ride, and hopefully I'll be able to hang around CA for a few days before and/or after the con. ^_^
*Laughs* And yes, most anything has to be better than Baltimore. ;)

Well, Oshi, I'm a few hundred miles too far to your west to help too much. But if you were on a flight with a connection (which is usually cheaper), I could meet you in Chicago; the flight from Pittsburgh is . . . hmm, about an hour and fifteen minutes, I think? I'm not sure from Philadelphia. Probably an hour 45?
Other than that, I'm obviously not a native Californian but I will be flying in as well, so depending on when you intend to fly in I could meet you at the airport. Sure wouldn't mind splitting a taxi to the convention center area. ^^ And I can help you get your bags and not get lost in LAX, etc.
I guess I'm not as much of a help as someone who lives in CA and could pick you up would be, or someone else who lives in your area. I suppose maybe I could make a little trip to visit my great aunt (in PA) that week, lol.
I'm a veteran traveller, including planes, for what that's worth. When it gets closer I can give you the "planes aren't scary" talk for coping with first flights. ^^

this is SO true. this is a big reason why i hugely prefer west coast cons over east coast ones! everything is so much more fun and laid back, and people arent as SCARY as on the east coast!
