Press Release:

It's GothPlay!

Dateline: August 8th, 2004, 9:00 p.m. Rock Island, Nan Desu Kan, Gott a Costume and the Wizards' Chest join to create a GothPlay night to remember!

The gothic and lolita look is getting huge in Japan and in CosPlay too - well, here's a great way we put together to exercise your costume yearnings in the Denver area!

Rock Island, one of Denver's oldest and greatest alternative dance venues, will host a Gothic/Anime costume fashion fiesta in concert with Nan Desu Kan, the Rocky Mountain anime con, and local costume resources The Wizards' Chest and Gott a Costume. Slated for five weeks before the con and ramping up to our annual NDK excitement, the night should give you a great chance to try on your Gothic and Lolita style, or any kind of anime costume, to make an appearance on stage and on the dance floor at Rock Island, backed by the sounds of the best Goth night this city has seen, two floors of music, and anime visuals!

The schedule includes an open-entrance fashion show with audience awards (make sure to arrive early to sign up!), and giveaways (by door raffle - anyone is eligible for a chance to win!) of free tickets to the Cure and the Colorado Ballet's upcoming production of Dracula as well as passes to Nan Desu Kan, and a dance floor large enough to satisfy everyone who wishes for just a little more space to shine!

The event is open to anyone ages 18 and over (ID required) and will run up to 1 a.m. with a cover of only $3 for Rock Island entrance at the door (all proceeds from door fees go to Rock Island). Alcohol available with 21+ ID only. Rock Island is at 1614 15th Street in Lower Downtown Denver. This is an adult venue, no exceptions, ID will be checked at the door. NDK does not take responsibility or liability for anyone attempting to circumvent these rules - Rock Island will enforce ID as required by law. For more information on the venue and parking, check out http://www.rockislandclub.com.

Update 7/22/04: Final details are set! 18-20 $3 at the door, 21+ only $2 at the door!
