Hello humans. I'm going to be gracing you all with my presence next year, and I have three questions. I'd be a happy little thing if you answered them.

1. I heard BLOOD was there last year. Any rumor of another J-Rock group coming in '05? :D

2. Exactly how large IS the Dealer's room? I've probably been spoiled by the Dealer's Room in Anime Boston, which was a whole other building. Is there a large variety of things there? How many 'stores' are there?

3. Doujinshi. Is it sold there, and how lenient was the last person there about the whole 'No one under 17 can buy R'/'You need to be over eightteen to buy (Enter stuff here).'?

At Anime Boston, There was a guy who yelled out, 'GET YOUR HOT STEAMY YAOI HERE! YOU! YOU LOOK LIKE YOU WANT SOME YAOI-GOODNESS!' And could have cared less if you just went to the person next to you, in front of him, and asked them to buy an NC-17 doujinshi for them. Is the guy there as cool?

4. Last year there were one or two Christian conventions going on nearby. Is the same thing happening in '05?

Love, :crest:

Also, anything else that you find neat about the convention, please post. I can't wait until January.

Hey! Who're you calling human? ^_^ LOL. I kid.
Well, So far,I don't think they have much of anything posted about Ohayocon 2005 yet....
I do know the dealers room last year was really good! It was an entire large room of vendors. (imagine a conference sized room) and I spent an absurd amount of money....lol
There was a hentai room and I hear they did card for that at least.
We'll keep you updated if anything else should pop up! ^_^

1. I don't think there's gonna be any other concert this year.

2. The dealer's room really wasn't that big, a conference room like KonekoMiyabi said. This year it'll be in the main-events ballroom where the concert was last year.

3. The doujinshi guy was probably Hen Da Ne. I think they're pretty lenient, they'll let someone over 18 buy it for you and they'll let you buy shonen ai if you're under 18.

4. I don't know if the Christian conventions will be happening this year.

1. Go to the OhayoCon website. There you will find all the info you need.

2. It is a fair size dealers room. Plenty of dealers and enough room to move around.

3. That guy is an A$$. I do not like him. Buying Yaoi/ Yuri is a private and personal thing. It doesn't need to be advertised. He was kicked out of ShoujoCon for doing that same thing. I think he is rude and a jerk.

It is against the law for anyone under the age of 18 to purchase Yuri/Yaoi. If you are caught not only will you get the items conficated but the dealer can and will be fined, arrested etc. If I find out someone there is selling to minors, I will report them. -.- Does your parents know you are buying NC-17 porn?

4. This is a convention center. There will probably be at least 2 more conventions there. OhayoCon is not big enough to rent out the entire convention hall. Deal with the Christians.

O.o No need to be rude. I was simply asking a question. I didn't mean to... offend... you by asking that. Your personal opinion has nothing to do with what I was asking. Not buckling your seat belt is illegal. So is occasionally faking sick to get out of school. We all break the law, don't we? No need to have a stick up your ass about it.
Its not personal to everyone. Maybe to you, but I really don't have a problem with hiding such things. o.o Not everyone is as conservative. That guy is pretty amusing, and we talked to him for a few minutes before something else in the Dealer's room caught my eye. Besides, the man is just trying to make a buck, and he does a good job at selling stuff. I'd be just as amused if a vendor on the side of the road was yelling, 'HOT, STEAMY PRETZALS! YOU! SIR! YOU LOOK LIKE YOU'D WANT A HOTDOG, RIGHT?!'

Reporting people? Isn't that a bit much? Do you really have to go out of your way to do such things? O.o' How am I hurting you by having someone buy NC-17 or R doujinshi? Besides- I usually just skip over the REALLY adult parts; I just get them for the pretty pictures, anyway. xD Its not like I'm using it to give to little boys and girls, slipping sleeping pills into their drinks, and selling them to perverted 40 year olds.
*Do your parents know you are buying NC-17 porn?
No, my parents wouldn't know, and I'm pretty sure they wouldn't care, either. o.o My friend bought a YYH Doujinshi from that guy (Ooooh... NC-17 too... better report her...) and we were both laughing at it on the train home. My mom knew, and she didn't care. -blink-

I was asking for RUMOR of another JRock band. The website isn't even really updated for '05. And you assume I was offended or something by the Christians- I'm not. I do, however, find it amusing to see their reactions when people with giant crosses/swords/ or random catgirls walk by.

No offence to you lady, but you seemed more intent on insulting me rather then actually giving me the help I was asking for.
It just kinda annoyed me that you posted your opinion of how what I was doing was wrong in a perfectly non-offensive post. Please, don't do it again. o.o

Actually it has been updated. I was just there....And if they have not mentioned a JRock band now. There probably won't be one.

Apparently you have no idea how much trouble a con and a dealer can get into for selling porn to minors. I know because I was part of the staff at ShoujoCon who told the guy that he could not scream about Yaoi. Several congoer complained about the fact he was screaming. It was embarassing and rude. He sold a NC17 yaoi to a under age girl and then her parents came back and threatened to sue the con and the dealer.
People do not want the fact they are buying Porn advertised. *PERIOD*

The same reason if you tried to go to Yaoi-con in San Fran and you were under 18 you could not go in.

No I do not think reporting a dealer who has come to a con to sell to adults not to children, is wrong. I would report HIM not the people buying it. Read more clearly before you make a stupid mistake as thinking I would report con goers.

Anyway back to reporting a dealer. He has broken the law and the agreement he signed before coming to the con. I could care less if you buy porn, what you do is what you do. But I do care if someone who knows better, ie the dealer, isn't following the rules as set forth by the con.

Please refrain from posting again. I am having staff close this thread, since it has nothing to do with the con.

Um, If a dealer is caught selling anything NC-17, or even swords for that matter to a minor, they'll be dealt with by the convention. You'll have to have a friend who's old enough go in and buy the adult doujinshi, and they can give it to you.

If any issues were to arise, the convention is held liable. That's why you will be carded. If you have a friend of legal age buy the doujin for you, then it becomes an issue between your parents/guardians (providing they had a problem with it) and the person who bought it for you... not Ohayocon.

I don't see how Marsie was being rude, she was telling you what she knows. If you have any more questions it would be best to go to the ohayocon forums (http://ohayocon.com/phpBB2/index.php), sign up, and ask people in charge who *know* the answers to your questions, instead of asking here.

EvelynCerridwyn: This is your first and LAST warning. Cosplay.com does NOT condone ANY illegal activity, nor do we allow our membership to discuss circumventing the law on our site. Obviously you don't care much for following the Cosplay.com rules, either.

If you think marsie "has a stick up her ass", you are breaking even more site rules by insulting a member of this site. And if you think the moderators are going to look indulgently on your activities, which you freely admit you have no problem continuing with, don't expect to play in our sandbox. Bye.
