I'm planning to cosplay as young Itachi with the Anbu costume. I can handle the shirt and the other clothings but I'm kinda lost on how I should make that thick, white jacket(or vest). What material should I use? I don't really think I want it made out of a cardboard box.

cardboard box? ahaha. well that vest isnt solid like you think... its not like armor.
You can use almost anything. Something that looks perfect to you. Probably not cotton blend or anything though. Just look around in a fabric place and find something that looks good. and making it wont be that hard either. just remember that the seam is down the middle of your torso. XD

oOo, thnx alot. So I'll probably use some fabric for the jacket, but do you know what I can use for the straps or the belts for shoulders and the waist? Should I just cut out some leather belt and spray paint it?
