View Full Version : Cosplay.com shoot/gathering!

Hi guys! I just wanted to ask if anyone had started up a cosplay.com gathering for AUSA? This'll be my first time, so I have no idea about the place and how it's set up.. but does anyone know of a good meeting spot? I thought sometime Saturday would be good, before or after everyone's photoshoots. We could have a shoot or just a general gathering... Let me know what you guys think. ^^;

Oh, and is anyone else doing the purple ribbons? I heard a few people that had purple ribbons on for Otakon, for the whole cosplay.com thing, but I didn't know about them then. Anyone else doing them for AUSA?

We had a cosplay.com photoshoot last year, it was somewhere in the lobby by registration, and there was another one directly outside the main entrance. It was like...mid afternoon I think.

I think we should get a group photo if we have a gathering. It'll be fun! :)

08-24-2004, 10:13 AM
I think you have to ask Admin if you can organize it or something, and the organizer has to be over 18. Just thought you'd like to know ^_^.

08-24-2004, 12:06 PM
yeah that would be fun and i always where my purple ribbion. but sorry i can't be the organizer i'm only 16. But the lobby is where a lot of the shots take place.

08-24-2004, 12:09 PM
Well, I will be in attendance at this convention, so I guess the photoshoot will be my responsiblity. Whether I will delegate this power to another member, or do it myself (I will be staff for AUSA, in the Manga Room.) will be a question that will be answered. Stay tuned for updates.

08-24-2004, 02:10 PM
I would help out also but ya not old enough either. Well if there going to be one i would love to join the photo. Just pm or something so i can get it.

08-24-2004, 03:30 PM
Actually, some of us planned on doing the ribbon idea for Animazement too. It sounds like a good idea as long as we all find little ribbos. :P Anyway... Yep, I'd show for the shoot. And I'd be bringing a couple other cosplay.com members with me too ^^

08-24-2004, 03:53 PM
I'll be there. I wanna be in a c.com group photo. :)

what she said.

I hope I don't miss it this time. I missed it @ Otakon and I was late for the one @ Katsucon so yea xDD.
There are what almost 100 or so of us going, shall be fun ^_^.

08-24-2004, 09:19 PM
Meep, sorry. I didn't know about an age limit... thinger. Oh well. Keep me posted, you guys. ^-^ I guess no one is planning the date/time now?

Okay, I'll make sure my friends and I get ribbons.

whats with the ribbon thingy?

08-24-2004, 09:45 PM
whats with the ribbon thingy?

*gasp* My dear John is not aware of the ribbon ritual........ok ok so its not a ritual. It's just a way of identifying other members of cosplay.com. At Katsucon some of us just printed out our avatars and put them on a template and stuck em on our badge xD. Although I've found c.com people just fine without all that ^^.

08-24-2004, 11:05 PM
I think 99% of the members don't wear the ribbons, just look at Otakon.

Though since AnimeUSA takes place during the last week of October I suggest instead of purple ribbons you wear a Red ribbon (since the last week of october has always been desinated Red Ribbon week by the US Congress since 1988). Represent two causes in one.

Red Ribbon week represents the continuing fight to keep drugs of the streets.

Yay! c.com shoot! I missed the ota one as well cus i was modeling in the jfashion panel
anywho, i can drag acouple of my other c.com friends w/ me *that are just too lazy to ever check the boards, lol*

saturday sounds good for me, just as long as it's not around 2-3, so either something later or earlier around noon-ish or something perhaps?? just a suggestion =D

ps. i'll wear a ribbon!

08-24-2004, 11:34 PM
Ohh I'll be there!! I might wear a Ribbon I don't know yet. ^_^;

08-25-2004, 12:54 AM
I would show up for a photoshoot! ^^
Ya I don't tind to where the ribben because its hard to see and people really don't notice it at all... the badge thing works much better in my opinion

08-25-2004, 01:39 AM
I will be there! Can't be there if it's at 2, already have a photoshoot then. General FF shoot.

08-25-2004, 11:27 AM
Should this shoot take place then I'll be there. I missed otakons so I need to make up for that. All I need is time and place.

08-25-2004, 12:46 PM
I like the Red Ribbon idea, I'll wear one! Plus, I'll come to the photo shoot as well. I'm over 18, if that helps...^_^ Time wise, looks like 2 and 3 o'clock shoots are out. Maybe 4 o-clock? Also, did anyone figure out where this will take place??? If it was already stated where, sorry!

09-07-2004, 07:56 PM
I'll wear a ribbon, just look for the freekin huge scythe (i haven't made it yet, but i'm planning for 10 ft tall, is that too long to be peacebonded?)

i'll be glad to do a c.com shoot. I missed it at katsu, and wasn't cosplaying at AMA and otakon

09-08-2004, 06:39 PM
I was unaware about any over-18 rule just to start a gathering, seeing as how the majority of the ones I've seen around here aren't started by anyone around that age... but I suppose that's just me? *curious*

Anyway. Whatever you guys decide to do, I guess just reply and let everyone know!

09-08-2004, 08:15 PM
As long as it doesn't cross over with another crucial event for me I'll do it. A photo op is always a good thing.

09-09-2004, 06:10 AM
I'll do my best to be there. I will most likely be entertaining my non-otaku friend there and at the same time shoot a documentary for a college project. Photoshoot sounds like fun.

09-30-2004, 03:50 PM
I may be up for it. I've missed it many times in the past.

The ribbon/badge thing never works, for me at least.

Just so long as it doesn't conflict with any other major events like another photoshoot or sonething, then I'll be there. I don't know about a ribbon though. Maybe I'll do the badge thing instead, but do I really have to? I mean a black Alexander Anderson with braids tends to stick out like a sore thumb =P

yea thats to big peacebonded is about 8 feet and down

10-21-2004, 10:14 AM
I have a 7 ft Sythe, teeheehee. what color ribbon are we doing?

10-22-2004, 11:13 AM
I think people are wearing a purple ribbon. No one ever decided on a c.com shoot time. Oh, well. :P

10-26-2004, 07:09 AM
I have my purple ribbon from the last 2 otakon, so I'll be there.

10-26-2004, 07:24 AM
I will be wearing a purple ribbon...
So what's up with this photoshoot/gathering? Is anyone still interested?

Purple Flames
10-26-2004, 08:49 AM
I don't think it's that no one interested, we just need a time and location for it as far as I know.

10-26-2004, 02:00 PM
Also need someone to run it too XD. Can't forget about that hehe ^^;.
But time wise wouldn't Saturday be best?

10-26-2004, 03:03 PM
I'll be there but not in costume, damn. I'll take a pic of you all though.

10-26-2004, 05:31 PM
4 pm seems a little too close to when the concert's starting (though I just want a chair, not to be uber close)... maybe 1?

10-26-2004, 06:59 PM
Anyone for Sat 12:45PM in the Lobby? That's pretty much before anything cosplay related starts and it doesn't overlap any other photoshoots...

10-26-2004, 07:04 PM
But there are photoshoots at 1...so it would be kinda hard to go to the cosplay.com one and as soon as you get there, run to your 1 o'clock photoshoot...

10-26-2004, 09:45 PM
I just suggested 12:45 because I've never been to a shoot that took longer than 15 minutes to get all the photos, the majority of the photoshoots seem to be in the lobby, so people would be there already for the next shoot and from the previous shoots unless they are wearing one outfit for the one shoot and another for the next. Plus, starting around 1 it seems that there are cosplay panels and the costume contests and cosplay rehearsals scheduled, so I thought if it was before all that most would likely be available... it was just a suggestion. We could make it earlier in the morning before noon, but I don't know if everyone would have crawled out of their rooms earlier than that (especially if they found room parties on friday night :drink: )...

10-26-2004, 10:35 PM
Yeah...and there are some panels and such that some of us are on in the morning...hm, hopefully everything would go smoothly and the shoot wouldn't last too long. 12:45 wouldn't be too bad...just need to glide smoothly over to the next shoot!

Though I have been in a group shoot for over a half hour before...but that was at Otakon.

10-26-2004, 10:52 PM
12:45pm isn't too bad as long as the c.com photo shoot is in the lobby. Then the Sailor Moon shoot won't get messed up.

10-26-2004, 11:47 PM
12:45 pm on Saturday sounds like a plan to me, people. I should be there, however I will not be cosplaying at this convention. Im just there to have fun... starting to get jaded of the actual act of cosplay itself.

I may be wearing my avatar badge but it'd be kind of retarded since its currently a black n white photo of myself wearign a cowboy hat and no glasses

10-27-2004, 01:24 PM
well I know I'LL be having fun at this con, specially since it's so SMALL and it's easy to run into people ^_^

Can't say if I can make it to this photoshoot though, got like 3 others planned. I'm leavin tomorrow!

10-27-2004, 01:27 PM
ya stacy i cant wait eaither! small cons are the best, but we cant have to much fun cause we were warned dun dun dun!

all theses shoots in the lobby! dosent anyone know how small and cramped the lobby is! its filled with chairs! a better place would prob be on the mezzimine(sp?) level.

12:45 sounds ok to me. I just hope my outfit is here by Friday, or else I won't be cosplaying this weekend =(

10-27-2004, 03:49 PM
I'm not cosplaying and I might do the badge. I'd probably be zooming around to different events though.

10-27-2004, 04:42 PM
Huzzah! I'll hopefully be there!
But... I'm a tad confused on the identification. I'll do all three. So just look for a Songstress Yuna with both purple and red ribbons and her avatar on her badge.
Also, does anyone think I can get my little brother to run up and take just a picture of everyone for me and my friends with our camera? Would he get in the way?

10-27-2004, 10:20 PM
I don't know how cramped the lobby is because I haven't been to ausa before. ~_~

10-28-2004, 12:06 AM

:: pokes:::: Look for the Prince Arislan! ^.~ 12:45PM sounds good to me too! I'll be there but I didn't know about the ribbon thing. I just wear a Cosplay.com member button I made for myself. ^^

10-28-2004, 09:34 PM
I'll be there in my EGL, most likely with some Starbucks in hand. X3
