Your two best options are:
1) Do it yourself.
2) Move.

Telling other people to start an anime con (or stranger yet, move theirs to Montana) never works. (If you don't even want to put in the effort, why should they?)

You really need to stop making topics about this. Posting on this board and whining about not having cons in your state will not accomplish anything at all. You have already posted similar threads, and if you checked them you'd see that people keep on giving you the same advice. Please take it and stop spamming the boards.

Repeatedly posting this isn't going to suddenly make someone start a con in your state. You have to either become active yourself, or save up to go to a con somewhere else. There really isn't much else to tell you.

Dude, if my broke ass could afford the 1100 mile flight down to Baltimore for Otakon, so can you.

Sometimes you have to do a bit of travelling to get to a con. You have to consider that it takes a LOT of money to put on a con and make it a success. Also, those who host a con tend to have it in a location where it's accessible to a large number of people, otherwise they will make no profit whatsoever. You have to be considerate of that. Yes, I do feel sorry for those cosplayers who live out "in the middle of nowhere", I live in Florida and there is always something for me to attend, whether it be a con, photoshoot, gathering, picnic...whatever. But sometimes you just have to either a) be patient and wait for a con to happen in your area, b) help to make a con HAPPEN in your area, or c) save some money and travel.

There are cons in your surrounding states, and if you save up enough you could travel further to the larger cons in places like California. For your nearby (not necessarily surrounding) states, there's Sakura Con in Washington, Anime Oasis in Idaho, Kumoricon in Oregon, Anime Detour in Minnesota... If we wanna go a bit more south there's Nan Desu Kan in Colorado. If you wanna travel up north, there's even Animethon in Alberta, Canada above you. But c'mon. I found all that just by clicking that Con Schedule link right above the forums. I just gave you a list of a bunch of cons without having to travel too far, but there's also the option of going all the way down to Southern California or Maryland for the bigger cons out there. It's up to you. Save up some money and go for it.

The only con near me is Anime Boston (but it is a good one) but still, 1 con a year isn't that great. I actually had a dream once where AB happened every 2 weeks (it was horrible, there were no guests and nothing at all happening, but damn, wouldn't that be fun!?) There are a few others around that are very small. But next year I'm driving to Otakon (I hope) since I'll be able to drive not very long before (I hope.) In fact I can drive (if everything works out) 2 days after AB (damn 16 1/2 driving law!)

Your best bet is to make something happen. Hell, my friends and I were thinking of renting out the Boys' and Girls' Club in Lowell and having a blitzball match in the pool, though they would never let us :(
